It's almost that wonderful time of the year when you get to put on a full face of makeup and relish in every person that points and stares!

Gone are the days where Halloween makeup meant a little fake blood and a nasty looking 'cut' or two.  Halloween is your chance to show your dark side through your makeup skills - and we've found some amazing looks to inspire you!

The Sugar Skull.

This has to be the Halloween look for makeup fanatics - why?  We think because it's versatile and has the ability to look really feminine.  The Calavera is a traditional representation of the human skull.  It's commonly attributed to the Mexican celebration Día de Muertos (The Day of The Dead) but they're also used in Roman Catholic ceremonies for All Soul's Day.  To create your own sugar skull look you can go as intricate or as simple as you like - just coordinate with gothic and feminine accessories to pull the look together!

And here's a few of our other favourite Halloween looks:

Do you go all out for Halloween? What are your plans this year - will you be taking on something like the looks above, or will you stick with the fake blood and plastic glow in the dark teeth?

I'm not big on Halloween. But if I had to start dressing up my face would match whatever outfit I could put together without spending a lot of money. I do like the idea of the sugar skull don't know how well it would work with glasses though.

These are very cool!

We have never gone all out for Halloween as it's not something that our family celebrates. We do have the lollies there for the kids when they come around and that is as far as we would go as to a celebration. The makeup in the above pictures are fantastic and amazing, some very talented people out there.

I am so planning to go to work with a Day of the Dead face. I've been putting some on my pinterest for months so I can find the right one, even painted one. In a weird way, they are so gorgeous. Cant do gory, blood, vampire looks, they give me the creeps.
