At BRHQ there's a division amongst the team. There's Team Matte, and then there's Team Gloss.
Some of us love the look of matte lipstick, others prefer to keep things simple with a slick of gloss.
So what are the pros and cons? Read on... and then let's duke it out once and for all to find out which is the best!
The Matte.
Matte lipstick is great for a busy person. A good matte lippy means no touch ups. You pop it on and you go about your day. Even better, it makes your lips a statement with opaque pigmentation. Sure, you have to put the prep time in with exfoliating and moisturising to get that flake-free look, but the end result is worth it.
The Gloss.
There's no fuss with a good gloss. Tinted or not, you just swipe it on and go. It creates a youthful appearance, and makes lips look juicier. Yes, you might have to pull away the odd hair that gets caught on your lips, and reapply regularly, but what's a little effort here and there compared to spending half an hour in front of a mirror fussing with your lipstick to ensure you've not drawn out of the lines?
So, what say you, our beauties? Are you all about juicy looking lips? Or do you prefer the stickability, the trustiness of a good matte lippy? Vote away!
I'm definitely a gloss girl! I've never managed to find a matte that was hydrating enough to not flake - and I love the ease of gloss and no mess touch ups. No fuss is always good in my books!
