The Best of Bearded Beauty!

Article by BR Tabatha

Does the sight of hair upon a man’s chin cause a thrill to race through you? Does the mere thought of that face full of hair follicles have you reaching for the device that provides you internet and send you swiping through the likes of Instagram and Pinterest for more unproductive hours than you care to admit? Although, in my opinion, staring at beautiful beards when you could be cleaning, cooking or doing work could hardly be called unproductive, I’d call it inspiring.

Yes, I admit, I’m a full-fledged obsessive fan of the beard. Big and bushy, trimmed and tidy, I’ll take what I can get and it’s a good time to love the beard, because men are embracing their beards and taking them to the next level.

My latest lusty beard addiction is what has been coined ‘the merman’. Men are dyeing their hair in bright colours. I’m seeing head and beardfuls of hair in blazing orange, azure blue, rich purple and hot pink. Some are mixing it up and leaving the hair on their head their usual colour and only dying their facial hair, while others are stepping out with heads and beards a mix of rainbow colours.

Check these bearded mermen babes out:

Get a further fix by hitting up #mermanhair on Instagram.

The other beard look I can’t get enough of? The beard bouquet. They’re so pretty, so soft, such a nice balance to the often harsher fuzziness of a bearded boy. I don’t image it’s all that easy to eat when you’ve a bush full of begonias dancing around your mouth, but oh it looks knees-a-wobbly good.

Another beard style I can totally appreciate is the lumberjack beard – it’s so raw, so real, so throw me on the bed and ravage me like a cave man you sexy beast you. You can find a fair few of them (and seriously this will send you wondering where the last couple of hours went) at Bearded Kings. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I wondered if I were the only Beauty Review Crew member to have such a fixation on some chin fuzz, turns out I am not. There is one other obsessed member*, and another who is a bit of a fence sitter and she reckons she only likes short groomed beards – but I reckon Bearded Kings will push her over the edge into full on beard fandom.

So are you a beard-lover? Can you spend hours staring into the soulful eyes of beard loving men? Do you appreciate the effort men are making with their facial hair? Or do you like your guys fuzz-free? And….. do you think a bearded man can appreciate a girl who doesn’t like to shave either … ‘cause … you know …. I’m just  …. um ….wondering ….(for a friend you understand). Spill!

*BR Natalie: I confess. It is I. I have a beard obsession. My favourite account to follow is @raisedbywolves83 You're welcome.

I think on the right guy, a beard looks nice. I notice a lot of the rugby players have beards now.

I am all for the Beard! When I meet my partner 4 years ago he was clean shaven and attractive but looked so much younger than his age....One year he decided to give the whole 'movember' thing ago which resulted in him growing a full on beard and he hasn't gone back! I love the rugged man look of them! And surprisingly even the pictures of them dyed and with flowers in them, they are still manly haha :)

Ok I must say that I really am not a fan of beards - HOWEVER my man has grown a really bushy, cave man beard a few times now and I suppose I did get used to it. In saying that I much prefer him without (he is without now thank goodness!).

He grew it because he is currently stay-at-home Dad to our daughter and just didn't really need to shave, then he read a blog online about how dirty beards are with germs etc and shaved it off!! Haha...........................

I am a prefer-er (is that even a word?) of the No beard though :)

I quite like beards but I wouldn't say I have an obsession. I wouldn't be a fan of my partner pulling a merman or bouquet though.

Sometimes hubby has little flowers in his beard :) he's a southern man and chasing sheep through the gorse bushes sometimes he has a we yellow flower sitting in is facial hair. Ha ha he would never shave, and I would run fast if he ever did anything with it other than a trim it would be way to weird.

I like this beard trend. My partner has a beard and I like it. Its not super long but its just right.

19th July, 2015

Nope sorry even if the beard looks ok I don't like a man with a beard. Kissing a man like that is kissing a bunch of scratchiness and no sex appeal will top that aversion. I like that men with beards are being creative, but no guy I date is allowed one.

Tabatha you sex kitten you! Beards are sexy! I don't like the beard bouquets. Hubby has a lumberjack beard, I love it! And sometimes he scares me and shaves the whole thing off which makes him look like an 18 year boy which I dislike sooooo much, but its his face and he does as he pleases lol!

I kinda love the beard thing! Other than the hot-ness I love that men have another way to express themselves in fashion, very cool.

I enjoy this beard trend too. I highly doubt that I could convince him to colour it though lol

Haha we don't like it when they tell us what to do to our hair...but I still want full control over The Husband's beard! xxx

Hahaha you said it Nat! Hey that gives me an idea, if hubby tells me he will shave off his beard I will tell him I will cut my hair, that way we both win hehehe

My partner looks so much younger without beard hair too. I enjoy his beard too. I can't make him do anything with it though lol

Definitely dirty when they drop food into their beards. I think that is a huge part of what makes me not keen on them.
