How To Beat Halloween Horror Skin

It comes in the night. Stealthy. Evil. Unexpected. Creeping up when you’re at your weakest, your most vulnerable. You don’t know it’s there until you wake up, see yourself in the mirror and scream. Post-makeup pimples! More to the point, post Halloween makeup pimples

Beat Halloween Horror Skin by following this guide!

1.  Cleanse before you apply your makeup.

Before you apply your makeup be sure to cleanse your face well, then moisturise, giving your moisturiser a good ten minutes to sink in before you move on to the next step.

2.  It’s a crime not to prime.

It really is a crime not to prime before applying heavy Halloween makeup. Primer will create a protective barrier between your skin and the makeup.

3.  At the end of the night...double down.

The moment you step through the front door remove your makeup. There are a number of products those who regularly wear stage makeup recommend for this including cold cream, coconut oil, jojoba oil, even baby wipes can be used.

Once you’ve taken off the makeup, it's time to go again - reach for the cleanser and make sure your skin is free from makeup residue.  If you have areas where you’re prone to breaking out it doesn’t hurt to apply a pimple or acne treatment to preempt any breakouts.

Finally moisturise your skin, and you’re done. You can go to bed and have sweet dreams of vampires and ghosts, witches and zombies, knowing that you’ll rise on November 1st having done everything you can to ensure you won’t be waking to an entirely different kind of horror show.

Allowing your skincare to set in definitely helps and gives a nice layer to protect your skin for make up.

Exfoliating is a must! A tip is a scrub you can use daily but you should exfoliate only once or twice a week. This way you don't stress your skin out =)

Letting moisturiser sink in before foundation really does help; also letting your foundation settle/dry down on the face helps not to over use to much makeup and clog the skin =)
