When the BR Crew get on the subject of favourite Disney princesses, Belle from Beauty & the Beast is an overwhelming favourite. I mean, what’s not to love? She can spot a pig of a man from a mile away, she loves her Dad, she is a book reader, she isn’t afraid to speak her mind, she’s curious, she’s kind, she has an adventurous mind, heart and soul - she’s one cool chick.
Beauty & the Beast recently had its 25th anniversary, and as we gazed at our Disney princess girl-crush, we got to thinking… that flush on her cheeks can’t be natural. And that lip shade’s far too fabulous to just be genetic. Hmmm, we wonder what Belle would use in this day and age to get that glow, those lips, that flawless complexion? So we started throwing around cosmetic ideas, and this is what we came up with.
Her skin looks naturally beautiful, but it’s also rather even, so we suspect a light foundation that still provides some coverage would be perfect. Our pick? L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion.
Running away from beasts like Gaston, or having snowball fights with a prince in disguise, has got to be hot and sweaty work, so we imagine a powder comes into play for keeping a sweaty glow at bay. Rimmel Stay Matte in translucent, come on down!
Not once have we ever seen Belle’s brows look anything but perfect. Filled in and unruffled, that’s what they are. What’s her secret? We think it’s a combination of Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil and Benefit’s Gimme Brows.
We’ve spent enough time staring into Belles eyes – well, staring at them – to realise she doesn’t overload on the eyeshadow. Instead it would appear to be one colour, very naturally applied. Clearly she’s a Bourjois girl, with a Smoky Stories palette on hand, so she can keep things elegant and natural during the day, then more seductive by night.
As for those eyelashes of hers? Well, they are like lush ebony mini butterflies about to take flight. Our guess would be they’re the work of another L’Oreal product – the False Lash Butterfly Wings mascara.
Belle has a natural glow about her. We’d like to call it the flush of first love. Or the result of larking about with talking teapots, but let’s be real. That cheek colour is a little too perfect, and little too ‘applied’. Za Cheeks Groovy in Glowing Pink, we know you’re on there…
Last but not least, there are those marvellous lips of hers. So shiny, so pink, so not like any natural coloured lips we’ve ever seen on a girl. What’s Belle’s secret? What’s she hiding in her hair do that she can whip out and apply whenever the colour wears away? Our bets are on the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Colour in Neutral Rose. Super pretty and conditioning to boot – just what every girl needs when she’s about to lay one on her hairy beast of a prince.
So there you have it – the break down of our beloved Disney princesses makeup routine. Do you think we’ve got it spot on? Have we missed a spot? Or are we delusional in thinking Belle’s beauty is enhanced? Chat
Belle is my absolute favorite, ever since I saw beauty and the beast at the movies when it first came out. I think you've got it pritty spot on, we'll done!
