Blending Eyeshadow - Do you find it difficult?

Remember when you were a little girl and your mum would let you try her makeup?  One little sweep with a brush or sponge and you felt like the most beautiful princess ever.

Then you grow up and realise there is so much more to it than that!  Rarely does one shade make a look, and how do you know what shades compliment and what shades clash?  Let alone learning where to place each shade and how to blend correctly!

Avon's True Colour Eyeshadow Quad is designed to take the hassle out of eyeshadow by providing a four-step system in complimenting shades. The quad promises long lasting colour and is fade and crease resistant.

So why not tell us - have you mastered the art of blending yet?  How do you blend, do you use a brush, a sponge or even your fingers?  How do you pick the shades? And do you ever just wear one colour?

I still have trouble with the blending and with quads find that i will use only 3 out of the 4 leaving the darkest one out or the second lightest depending on the shade range... naughty me ;)

I think I do it ok but I can always do it better or even less time consuming that would be great!

I really struggle when it comes to blending. I tend to end up looking like I have 2 black eyes or a severe allergic reaction!! I would love something that is as simple as 1,2,3 and maybe 4). Although the idea of putting 4 colours on my eyes makes me a bit nervous - maybe with a quad that compliments each other, and some practice, i could achieve a look like above

One of the beauty things I wanted to do this year was to wear more eyeshadow. I watch quite a few different youtube gurus and have learnt a lot from them on how to apply and blend so I think I'm doing alright and I enjoy applying it. I think you definitely need the right brush. When you get a set it can be a bit overwhelming to know what brush to use where. I think eyeshadows like this are a great idea so you know what colours to apply without looking clownish!

As a makeup artist I would hope I've got it down by now haha!

I can't blend to save myself, so any help at making it easier for me is a must lol

Have been using eye shadow in this way for a loooooong time so kind of used to it, I guess!! I sometimes just use my fingers but using good brushes is more ideal ;-)

I love blending shadows together!!! I Have been doing it since I was 16, just for fun really. I used to struggle blending but now I can honestly blend any colour! My favourite is definitely black, silver and silvery white as this combination makes a gorgeous smoky eye! Bring it on ;)

Looks like I might have been doing mine in reverse to what the pack shows. Try to limit when I wear eye shadow as it tends to create lines after a few hours.

Not at all!! Invest in 2 good brushes. One for applying and the other for blending and just rub that blending brush over the shadows where they meet until they are blended. Too easy if you have a decent brush!! ;)

I am getting much better at it. I have a couple of compacts that come with eyeshadow blends like this but sometimes I have to wipe it and start all over again!

It IS super hard!

At first I found it super hard. But with the right brush & alot of practice its easy as pie now :-)
