Beauty Review's Avon Task Force have been putting lip gloss to the test. Finding the right lip gloss is like finding the Holy Grail, so how does Avon's Glazewear range rate with our panel of testers?
Packaging:
Micht - Basic LipGloss Packaging with this one.....May not look expensive and extra classy but what is inside is much more valuable and important.
MissAimeeJean - The outer cardboard packaging of the Lipgloss is black with bold white writing which is very simple but effective. When you open the cardboard box, the lippy is housed in an understated but very sophisticated plastic tube with a black rectangular top
SarahAshling - Firstly packaging was pretty simple, didn't blow me away but it clearly showed me the colour within and had a nice applicator attached.
Emily_Anne70 - The tube was clear so you could see the real colour of the product and the lid was a glossy black colour. Decent size, and I love being able to see the colour of things through the packaging!
Abi - Housed in the simple black and white box. A lot goes into the formula, the very long ingredients list, almost a little off putting but there are a few good things in there: the Jojoba seed oil, the beeswax, the shea butter and good’ol mica that seems to be in everything these days!
Colour:
Micht - I received this gloss in "intense plum" which is a beautiful rich pinky/purple shade. One of my favourite colours to wear.
MissAimeeJean - I received the colour Nude Muse which looks like a tan-brown colour in the tube, but when applied to the lips using the gloss wand it actually looks nude on the lips. Initially I wasn't very keen on the colour as I would usually go for a pretty pink gloss when choosing for myself. However I was very surprised at how much I enjoy wearing this gloss.
SarahAshling - I got to test out Nude which I think is a good everyday essential for every girl to have in her bag.
Emily_Anne70 - I was lucky enough to get the lipgloss in a bright red colour.
Abi - I’ve been trialling the Pink Water Melon shade, it’s really not the colour of watermelon! It is a pretty, relatively natural looking pinky, pink and on its own gives a natural healthy look to the lips
Product:
Micht - The applicator is a very nice and fluffy brush which is usually found in high end lip gloss tubes. Goes on well and smoothly... literally just glides on as the packaging instructs.
MissAimeeJean - The only instructions on the box state "glide on lips" and that is exactly what it does. This lipgloss glides so easily onto the lips and doesn't leave any sticky-ness that some other brands tend to.
Abi - The wand is your normal foam tipped one, doesn’t get too over loaded and holds the perfect amount necessary to generously cover the lips.
SarahAshling - The product went on incredibly smoothly and was not at all sticky or tacky (which I was expecting), I think because of the Shea Butter it was very moisturizing and just felt so lush on.
Emily_Anne70 - I am aware that the product claims to not feel "sticky or tacky" however to me it was still a bit sticky.
Results:
Micht - Lips feel instantly soft and smooth and moisturized. Works well on its own and gives a light gloss, nothing over powering or out there but still noticeable.
MissAimeeJean - I hate the feeling of having sticky lips, but this product leaves my lips feeling really hydrated. I am impressed!! I normally would be constantly re-applying my gloss during the day and I have found that I do so less when using this Avon gloss.
Abi - When it does wear off it does leave a bit of line around the outside of the lips but it doesn’t feather.
SarahAshling - The colour was understated and had a lovely shine to it. I thought it looked good by itself or on top of my favorite bright pink lipstick.
Emily_Anne70 - It was incredibly moisturizing and it did glide on the lips nicely. It was definitely better than most lip glosses!
All in All
Micht - Overall good value for money and a lovely lip moisturizer. Thumbs up for this one.
Emily_Anne70 - I never really use lipgloss because I hate the feeling of the product being wet and sticky on the lips. I definitly prefer matte lipsticks. However, I was genuinely impressed with this product and I was able to find ways to make it work for me.
MissAimeeJean - The Avon Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss is amazing! The quality of the product is top-notch and I will definitely be re-purchasing!!
Abi - I’d completely given up on lip gloss! Waste of money, no staying power, sticky, really altogether a rather unpleasant experience. So when I saw the Ultra Glazewear, I didn’t get too excited! BUT, as far as lip glosses go, it's pretty good.
SarahAshling - I have to admit I really wasn't sure about this product to start with as I haven't used a lip gloss since I was about 18. However I was impressed...
Any tips?
Micht - Would work best if used with a complimenting lipstick but if sheer coverage is needed use on its own.
Abi - It does also work nicely over a lipstick, giving very luscious looking lips.
SarahAshling - Must have for your bag!
Emily_Anne70 - Don't worry about applying a lip balm underneath as it is really moisturizing. If you don't like lip gloss then you could blot out the product and turn it into a stain.
So there we have it . You can read our Task Force reviews in full here, along with other members reviews.
Some great reviews I hate lip gloss that leaves the sticky effect so looks like might have to try these out! I like the price too affordable for my budget total bonus!
