When we showcased the L'Oreal Brow Artist Plumper a couple of weeks ago, the response was huge. Everyone wanted this revolutionary 'fibres in gel' formula. It seems good brow game is at the forefront of many a-woman's beauty agenda.
And the best way to win any game is to arm yourself with all of the knowledge and tools you can. We've already told you how to get the best brow shape for your face, so now it's time to tell you what you need in your arsenal to reign victorious as the brow queen.
Gel. Gel formulas can be tinted or transparent and offer a light and long lasting setting power.
Fake Brows. If you want to rock strong brow game for a night out or special occasion, or you are totally losing the battle for good brows, then you might just find your saviour in stick on brows. Yes really.
Fibres. Much like fibre mascara, fibre brow products contain individual fibres that are brushed on to the brow, creating volume, depth and definition.
Highlighter. Highlighting under the arch can brighten your entire eye area.
Pencil. A go-to for most when it comes to brow care, pencils are great because they're easy to use. They're good for creating shapes and contouring brows, and the latest formulas have up to 24 hour lasting power.
Powder. Whether you use a specific brow powder, or an eyeshadow that matches your brows, powder is perfect for filling in brows that just need a little extra definition, or have minor sparse areas.
Stencils. If you have particularly thin or sparse brows, the prospect of 'drawing' them on can be daunting - not to mention time consuming. The easiest way to create perfect brows everyday is to invest in a brow stencil that suits your face shape.
Serums. The success behind eyelash serums has moved higher up - you can buy dedicated eyebrow serums to stimulate hair growth. These take a lot of time to work, and you'll need to be consistent in your use, but many people swear by them. You'll be looking upwards of $120 for a 3 month supply.
Spoolies. Spoolies look like mascara brushes and are used to 'comb' your brows. They're great for blending your brow product into your natural brows for a more subtle look. Use after a brow pencil do leave a more powdery finish.
Tweezers. Even if you go to the salon to have your brows shaped, threaded or waxed, you'll still want a perfect pair of tweezers on hand to tackle strays. You can expect to pay $25-$35 for a decent pair of tweezers. Your tweezers should have a slanted tip and you might find it useful to have a pair of super pointy tweezers for ingrown or very short hairs. Square tips may allow you to remove more hairs at once but this can lead to ingrown hairs. The inside of your tweezer tips should be scuffed to help them grip the hair. They should be matte coated on the outside so you can grip them lightly without them slipping.
Wax. Brow wax can be transparent or tinted and is perfect for sculpting unruly brows and getting them to stay perfectly in place all day. You can use wax solo, or if your brows need extra help, team it with another product. Using powder mixed into wax can help give the appearance of hairs.
