We’re all for discovering new beauty products and trends at BRHQ. There’s nothing quite as thrilling as happening upon something exotic and exciting, like our most recent discovery, the Blenderelle, a makeup sponge case designed to protect your makeup sponges while ensuring there’s enough air going through the case to dry them. And it has antimicrobial technology, which we’re pretty sure is an awesome thing since we all know how germy sponges can be (if only we could figure out a way to get it delivered here!). But there are some products that come out and we find ourselves just going… hmmmm, are you sure? Just what might these products be? Read on…
When it comes to the idea of stamping on a face product, some of them just have us stamping our feet in a no-no nuh-uh way. Take for example the idea of eyebrow stamps to help you get your most on fleek eyebrows ever. We can see how it could be appealing... but what if you didn't have the same eyebrow shape? Would you look like your brows were half done? Or if you were trying to fatten up thin brows would you look like you'd coloured outside of the lines? To me there's too many things that could go wrong to make it worth shelling out cash for. In saying that, Tati reviewied the product above and she really liked the powder they used. So maybe worth it for the cosmetic part of the product and the stamping part could be a fun experiment? Eh, I'm on the fence.
Something the whole team are not on the fence about are full eyeliner stamps.
Nope. Not going to happen. We've seen too many YouTube fails to even consider it. Even the ones that kind of worked required the YouTubers to go in afterward and sharpen or tidy things up. Too much admin. And once again, they may well not work with your eye shape, so could be a big fat waste of money, which could be spent on things you know you'd love. Note - this does not apply to some of the wing-only stamps, because between the Sanfilippo Wing it stamp and the Vamp Stamp some good results have been witnessed - but once again you have to go in and do the rest of your eye to make it work, which makes us wonder if it's just better to practice your eyeliner until you can do it like a pro, no extra tools required.
This next beauty trend I feel I should love, because the rest of the beauty world seems to. And I have to admit that the results I've seen have been pretty amazing, but seriously, the admin involved... so much. So. Much. What am I on about? Peel-off lip and eyebrow tint gels.

First of all they take time. You have to let the lip tints sit for around fifteen to twenty minutes before you peel them off to reveal tinted lips that apparently stick around all day. As for the eyebrow tints? You've got to find yourself two hours worth of drying time before you can leave the house with fab looking brows. Who has the time? Seriously? I'd rather whack some Billion Dollar Brows through the hair then go about my day. Three minutes tops. As for the lip tint? It's tempting, but what if it peels off my lip skin? What if I go over the edges and look like the Joker? Why put yourself through that when you can whip out a tinted lip balm, swipe and go and know everything is looking good as gold?
The final product that has us going 'oh heck no' is the Face Slimmer Exercise Mouth Piece. It claims to give facial muscles and sagging skin a daily lift in just three minutes. Frankly we can't help but think it looks more like a torture device for your mouth* - so that's a pass.
So do tell... what ridiculous beauty products have you come across lately? Or have you tried something that's seemed ridiculous but has actually ended up being a win? Get chatting!
*Natalie just thinks it looks plain rude.
Ahaha oh the Face Slimmer - cracks me up every time! Not sure how I feel about any of these products!
