Do you have a bubble wrap stash sitting somewhere in your home for those moments when you might need to send something breakable in the mail? Or maybe for when you break a plate or glass and don’t have any newspaper to wrap it up? Is that stash getting larger and larger the more online makeup shopping you do? Well, if you’re looking for a way to put it to use, why not try curling your hair with it?

I know! Sounds a little ‘are you for real?’ right? Yet bubble wrap curls is a thing – and the results are quite simply stunning! It reminds me a whole lot of how my mother curled my hair with rags when I was younger and yet I suspect sleeping on bubble wrapped curls would be a whole lot more comfortable than sleeping on rags...

So, how do you get the bubble wrap curl look?

Basically you take bubble wrap, chop it up into lengths and then roll those lengths up into strips – bulkier strips for bigger curls, smaller for tighter curls. You then wrap your hair around the bubble wrap strips, starting at the bottom and moving up to the top. Once you’ve reached the top of your head bring the ends of the strip together and secure with a rubber band. Wait for a few hours then gently unwrap your hair and style.

So what do the results look like? Check out these two gorgeous looks!

One other reason to love bubble wrap curls? Because it uses no heat it’s kinder on your hair as well.

Now do tell… will you be giving bubble wrap curls a go? Have you already tried it? Are you a fan? Will you be sticking to tongs, rags or straightener-styled curls? Chat away!

This is so clever! I have a ton of bubble wrap

Brilliant idea!! Love it :)

Looks like too much work! But I think the same about a curler iron lol

22nd January, 2016

That actually looks really good.

Gawd I'm glad my hair does what I want it to whatever method I use. One of the lucky ones here but isn't it always the same - the grass is greener etc etc :)

This looks similar to the rags method, which is a bit time consuming, I have heated curlers but never seem to get around to using them.

21st January, 2016

Not sure if all the effort would be worth it, as the curls will probably fall out within ten minutes.

I already have these twisty things I can curl my hair without heat with so probably not a trend I'll try. But what an imaginative idea.

Those curls look Awesome! I do have a stash of bubble wrap but I'm always selling stuff so it comes in handy and my stock of it doesn't get too big. I don't think I'd have the patience to try this out to be honest though.

Oh I remember my cousins doing this with rags when I was very young, I don't think I will be trying this anytime soon though.

21st January, 2016

Really? I use straightner for curl but this is something different. Definitely I'll try.

21st January, 2016

yes!! I'm going to try this next time I wash my hair. I feel like bubble wrap will be easier to handle than rags too. I have curling tongs but I can only ever get half my head looking good as I'm too cack handed with the other side so I just get frustrated.

I have tried this before among countless other no heat curls technique. Curls turned out decent but didnt last very long on my hair even though I used hairspray. Make sure to use slightly damp hair for this. It gives better results.

Reminds me of the old rag ringlets -Why not if it ends up looking pretty but like the rags not a good look while you are all wrapped up.

This could be a fun way to spend a night with the girls! Face masks and hair! Fun...
