Happy Halloween!!!
Happy Halloween?
Hmmm, there's something incredibly wrong with saying 'happy Halloween' - we're pretty sure the salutation should be 'Terrifying Halloween!' or 'Scare-ya-pants-off Halloween!' or 'See-ya-rocking-back-and-forth-in-the-corner Halloween!'.
You see people can do whatever they want, but here at BRHQ we're firmly of the belief that Halloween is a time to ugly up and scare ourselves and others silly. There'll be no cutesy kittens in this office! Not for a holiday that harks back to the pagan days where bonfires were lit, sacrifices were made, and people pranced about in costume in order to keep the spirits at bay on the day where the lines between the two worlds were at its thinnest.
So in the spirit of Halloween we've tracked down some of the most terrifying looks from such seriously talented artists. Take a deep breath, remember you're safe, and prepare to be grossed out, revolted, unsettled and/or scared!
Would I want to come across someone with gaping maggot-filled wounds? Nope. No way. Uh-uh. Not on a regular day. Not on Halloween. Never. This looks has my stomach swirling - which means it's good!
We don't know where to even begin with this. The burnt texture of the skin. The button-hole eyes. The sealed lips. It's all too full-body shuddery for words. Can you imagine how it would freak out the trick or treaters if you opened the door to them looking like that? (And I might be a little evil, because I kind of want to...)
I don't know how you do the voodoo that you do, Jade Grogan. But you do it oh so well. This voodoo doll look is a tad terrifying! Someone hide the pins! (Bonus points to anyone who spots my old school lyric reference.)
Them feels when you're meant to be sourcing images for a Halloween article, but you seen an image so creepy you want to throw away the laptop and hide behind the couch until it's safe to come out... This look by Katie Malam is the stuff that corners were made for rocking in.
You know who ruined clowns for me? Stephen King. Big time. Reading IT changed my view of those jolly jokesters forever. And if I saw this fellow coming at me I'd turn tail and run. Also, fun fact. I don't like hanging around drains. And when my daughter decides to drop rocks down them I always freak out a little. Aside from that, do check out HorrorGrime's instagram page. It's freaky freaking deaky.
Finally, how could we not showcase the mad skills of Helen Maree. The juxtaposition of her beautiful eyes, pinkened cheeks and cord slipping in and out of her skin sent shivers down our spines!
So do tell... are you heading down the chilling and spooky route this Halloween? Are you inspired by these looks? Or will you be shutting the door, pulling the blinds and keeping well away from all things spooktacular? Chat away!
I just dressed up for work but nothing like these amazing looks!
