Do you have Eczema or Keratosis Pilaris?

So we're back with another trial team from the cult brand CeraVe!  This time we're looking for reviewers to form a trial team reviewing two products; both products are suitable for skin with Ketatosis Pilaris and Eczema - two conditions that can be at the least; annoying, and at the most, painful and frustrating to live with.

Keratosis Pilaris is a common and harmless skin condition where small bumps are present, mostly on the arms, bottom, back, thighs and sometimes the face. The bumps can blend into the skin, or may be red, pink or brown and some people find KP itchy.  The bumps are caused by an excess production of keratin, which gets trapped in the hair follicle.  It's most common in children and teens, with women more likely to experience it than men.

Eczema is a common skin condition, of red, itchy and/or dry skin.  Eczema can be quite mild, or very servere - impacting daily life in some cases.  The causes of Eczema can be complex, the most easy to identify are irritants such a soaps, wool, heat or sweating.  Allergens such as pollen and foods can also cause a flare up.  Emotional stress is another eczema trigger.

Eczema commonly begins on the face, hands and feet, but it can spread to the whole body.  Eczema can be identified by itching, redness, tiny fluid filled blisters, dry, pale patches of skin and areas of leathery, thick skin.

One key factor in both soothing and preventing eczema flare ups is moisturising.

This trial team will be reviewing the Smoothing SA Cleanser and the Smoothing SA Moisturising Cream.  Both products work together to exfoliate, soften and smooth dry, rough, bumpy feeling skin without disrupting the protective skin barrier.

If you'd like to review these products for us, comment below and tell us why!  Do you suffer from Keratosis Pilaris or eczema?  Have you found products that work for your skin yet?

I get excema on my face around my eyes and in skin folds on my neck. Would love to try this and see if it makes a difference.

I have KP on my bottom, arms and face. I would love to try this product to see if it helps me whilst being gentle on my skin. Also seems to be an affordable product so will be great if it works then I will continue to purchase!

Yess I would love to give this a try! I have KP on the backs of my arms and especially on the backs of my thighs. I’ve tried body scrubs, loofahs and everything else but it’s so stubborn and nothing works. I would LOVE to see if this could really help get rid of the KP!

I would like to be part of this trial. My KP appeared suddenly after a medical incident about 5 years ago. I have tried most advice found on the internet. From cutting out dairy, scrubbing/exfoliating to more well know expensive US and European brand lotions and moisturisers. Nothing has drastically improved my KP. I’m also moving to more cruelty free brands so would love to check out CERAVE.

I get KP on the backs of my arms and back of my thighs. It is so frustrating sometimes as after shaving the rest of my legs are smooth but the back of the thighs are rough and bumpy no matter what I do or try. I would love a spot on this trial team to see if it works for me. My partner also has moderate eczema so if it can help him also that would be an awesome bonus.

I would love to be part of this trial team because I have been looking for a product that could target both the eczema on my eyelids, as well as the keratosis on my skin, both of which at the moment I use other pharmacy creams to try to solve but worry about how this is impacting the fragile skin areas on my face. CeraVe is a brand I’ve always been keen to try, because of the other skin benefits they have within their other products ie acne, hydration etc, and I’ve heard many great things so I’d be very interested to see how my experience is with it.

Keratosis Pilaris. I have been waiting for CeraVe to hit New Zealand shores for quite some time. Would love to try this product as I have seen some great reviews on social media

I have been looking at Cerave recently after a recommendation from a friend. I suffer from eczema and so does my teenage daughter and we have always struggled to find skin care that works. We have been using Dermal which helps but after a while we need to switch it up. I’d love to try this and see if it could be our alternate product. We spend a small fortune on products so being able to try and recommend them to others is really helpful. We also have KP, something I’d never experienced before and had no idea what to do! I’m so excited to try these products!

I use the CeraVe body loation and cream and love it. It has kept my dry skin moisturized and hydrated during these winter days. I do have eczema and suffer from it all year round so would love to trail this smoothing range if I am able too please.

I would love to give this a go. I have a very mild case of both KP and eczema. Both occasionally flare up and I would love to get my hands on something that would help when this happens! This sounds like nothing I have tired before. I would love to be considered!

Yes! Little bumps on my arms drive me nuts in summer

24th July, 2022

Oh wow - I'd love to be considered for this because I have both eczema and KP. I am battling an eczema flare up (face, neck and shoulder) right now, possibly due to being sick a few weeks ago and being under a bit of stress (a trigger for me) in general over the past months. I've used a hundred over-the-counter creams over the years but nothing seems to clear it - the best they can do is control the itch, but the redness and rough patches remain. I'm all out of my medicated ointment and am resisting a doctors appointment just to get another tube. I'd really love to find a non-prescription option! I have also had KP on my thighs for as long as I can remember. I don't usually treat it as I just hide it instead but how amazing would it be to not have to hide! I've never used this brand before but I'm so keen to give it a go!

I have had KP all my life and have never been able to get rid of it, have tried everything! I didnt realise this even existed so I would love to try something topical rather than changing my diet (which didnt work anyway). My son also has KP so if this works it would be great for him too!

I've had KP my whole late teen/adult life. People often say it's made worse by eating gluten but bread and pasta is life... so if a topical treatment can help, I'm all for it!!
