Do you judge a product by its packaging?

We're very picky about the products we buy - will the colour suit us, does the price fit in to our budget, is the product readily available?  But how much does packaging affect our consumer choices?

When it comes to cosmetics and beauty products the packaging choices are vast, from refillable pumps to lipstick boxes you can plant and grow a flower from.  And what about the designs on the packaging - this is a brand's best shot at attracting your attention, so it's not surprising a lot of thought goes in to deciding what message a products packaging will deliver.

The reason we're talking about the packaging of our latest trial product is simply because - when we opened the courier box, we were wowed!  We're used to cute packaging, we're used to innovative packaging, but the new Moreish range is just beautiful.

And it seems you agree - when we posted shots of the products on our Instagram and Facebook page almost every comment was on how gorgeous the product was.  A+ to the marketing team - they've already got us all dying to try the products!

10 great reviewers are going to put the Moreish Daily Redemption Day Cream to the test.  This nutrient-rich cream will condition and restore your face and neck. It's perfect for normal-to-dry or mature skin.  A comprehensive blend of oils moisturise the skin, restoring the protective skin barrier and reduce moisture loss, while regenerative and antioxidant properties improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of fine lines.  It contains Argan, Vitamin E, Blueberry for anti-ageing & restoring

We think this New Zealand made product sounds as good as it looks - if you agree and would love a spot on the team, why not tell us why below?  And share your thoughts on packaging - do you prefer your products look pretty as well as working well, or do you not mind if the outside is less than attractive, as long as the product inside does its job?

Although I love beautiful packaging, I have found excellent skin care and make up products with simple packaging in the past. I'm glad that Moreish is a New Zealand brand, as I try to support brands of our country, and we are blessed with resources of natural ingredients which are incorporated into our local brands. I would really love to try Moreish Daily Redemption Day Cream as I'm on the search for a natural skincare which helps with anti ageing and dry skin.

This sounds so impressive! Most of the time I buy things because the packaging is cute, unless I have heard that something is good :)

Couldn't come at a better time because I am looking for a new day cream for my rather dry sensitive skin. This certainly is appealingly packaged. Maybe it will give my outer wrapping a bit of a revamp too?

Yes packaging can often suck me in. If it's bright, colourful and fun I usually want it. But it is so disappointing when the product inside is no where as good as the funky box makes you think it is.

I saw this in Countdown today and wandered what it is. Now I know. Yes, I look at the packaging and this range looks fantastic, makes me really want to try it. I like vitamin E in skin care products too.

Yes I'm definitely a sucker for packaging. I've been lured in many a time by Benefit's cute packaging even though I find most of the products quite meh. I have a Versace powder compact I have never used as I bought it for the packaging alone.

I would love to try this as I presume it's a relaunch of the old Moreish brand. I heard good things about that.

I am drawn to nicer packaging, but it can sometimes even put me off the product if it looks like it might be expensive and out of my price range. I like the Moreish packaging and my dry almost-40-year-old skin would love to try the day cream.

Yep, I like nice packaging, and the product usually looks the same as the package.

10th June, 2015

Yep I totally judge by the look, bad aye! I've always been bad like that with perfume, hasn't got me wrong thou. This packaging looks very pretty but healthy definately makes you want to put that goodness on your skin doesn't it :)

Packaging helps sell ,especially for gifts but i the product is not great it soon gets forgotten. It is lovely to have nice packaging as it feels special but I would willingly forgo that if the product was special.

It's hard not to! This packaging looks absolutely lush! It's all part of the pampering process! But this one sounds like it's packed with heaps of goodies on the inside too! I'm just about to finished my Oasis Moisturiser so I'd love to give something new a try. ESPECIALLY when it's NZ made! That's always what I'm looking for. I'd love to try something with natural oils and other goodies in it! <3 My skin needs all the loving it can get over winter!

Ah something for the face AND neck! Now thats what this 40 year old girl needs, a good bit of beautiful, restorative Moreish! There is just something about beautiful packaging that makes you think, if they put that much effort just into its brand and look, surely the product will have had a great deal of time and money spent on making it stand up to back the image. Shallow that we are, many great things come in simple less-than-attractive packaging. I like to think I'm a discerning purchaser of both.

I look for something that catches my eyes certainly but there are some brands like Lush that have the most simple packaging but inside is where the magic happens.

I think the first thing you notice is the packaging and of course if it is pretty or eye catching then you stop and take more notice. This looks like another yummy NZ product, I like the sound of the blend of oils especially for the more mature skin.

I am always on the lookout for new products and the Moreish Brand has a fantastic look. Great colors, very soothing and pretty design. Even though I would like to know whats on the inside before I spend my hard earned money. I normally am looking for recommendations before I part with my coins. In the end the pretty packaging will end up in the rubbish, but what is important is the product itself that we let so close to us.
