Do you have dehydrated skin? When we say dehydrated, do you immediately think of dry skin? Did you know there is a difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin? Let's break it down.
In super simple terms; dry skin is caused by having fewer Sebaceous glands. Dehydrated skin is caused by a lack of water.
Dry skin is a skin type. What type of skin we have is generally based on our own individual and natural sebum production. We might have oily skin, dry skin, normal skin or combination skin. You can't really change your skin type, you can just improve your skin by using products formulated to work with your skin type.
Dehydrated skin is a skin condition. It likely comes and goes, and is determined by different factors - your lifestyle, your enviroment; what products you're currently using. You can have oily or combo skin that is dehydrated.
Dehydrated skin looks and feels different to dry skin. Dry skin is generally, erm, dry. It flakes if you scratch it and can sometimes feel really uncomfortable. Signs of dehydrated skin include; a dull skin tone, more pronounced fine lines and wrinkles and dark undereyes.
