Sun fact: New Zealand has severe levels of UV radiation, with some parts of the country needing daily protection, even in Winter. Yes, if you're a regular around here you'll know we are a stickler for using SPF. And any chance we get we will unashamedly lecture you on the importance of sun protection. DAILY sun protection if you please.
But did you ever think about your hair? How do the sun's harmful rays impact your barnet's lush-ability?
We're glad you asked!
Sun damaged hair is dull, frizzy and weak which makes it appear unhealthy and neglected. Add to the mix other Summer things like chlorine and salt water and your hair is in for a dehydration and dryness. And this unholy trinity of sun, chlorine and salt water can also cause your colour to fade and lose its shine more quickly.
Now the obvious thing to do is slather your hair in sun screen. KIDDING! Although you should wear a sunhat when you're out and about in the sunshine. But what about the existing damage? What can we do to specifically target sun damaged hair?
We're putting the brand new Schwarzkopf Extra Care Sun Repair range to the test. This new innovation in hair care contains Monoi-Flower extract to repair damages caused by sun rays, chlorine and salt water and UVA/UVB filters which protect the hair and prevent it from drying out.
The members of this trial team will each review three products:
- Extra Care Sun Repair Shampoo
- Extra Care Sun Repair Conditioner
- Extra Care Sun Repair Leave-In Conditioner Spray
We're especially excited by the Leave-In Conditioner Spray - it's like an express conditioning treatment you can throw in the beach bag and use to instantly combat sun, chlorine and salt water damage!
So, over to you - do you consciously think of protecting your hair from the sun? Is your hair dry, frizzy and weak? Were you aware the sun might be causing this damage, or did you never really link the two? Would you like to join this trial team?
Get chatting below, and you could find yourself with three new products to review!
