Do you use a toner?

When it comes to skin care products, it's safe to say toners are a bit of an after thought.  Underrated.  Misunderstood.

There's a beauty myth that toners were only invented to remove the soapy residue from early cleansers - a money making ploy from brands.  And many a busy person will tell you the toner is the first thing they drop when the skin care routine gets a little slack.

Toners are used to purify and removes excess sebum from the skin and pores.  Which can be a blessing to those with oily skin.  They also leave the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated.  Which is wonderful for those prone to dryness.  In fact, toners have many, many uses, too many to go in to detail on, but here's a brief list:

  • To hydrate
  • To revitalise
  • To soothe
  • To balance the pH of the skin
  • To relax the pores, preparing them for more effective moisturisation.
  • To 'set' make up

We're putting the iconic Thayers Facial Toner to the test. Available in four varieties this product visibly improves the quality of skin, revealing glowy, moisturized skin that looks and feels healthier.  The alcohol-free, gentle, non-drying toner acts like a remedy to hydrate skin all day, helping skin feel purified, balanced and renewed.  Skin texture is visibly smoother, pores appear smaller, and skin tone looks more even - what's not to love?!

Curious about the options available?

  • Thayers Lavender Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera is for people with stressed/sensitive skin.
  • Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera is for people seeking glowy skin.
  • Thayers Cucumber Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera people looking to cool and soothe puffy skin.
  • Thayers Unscented Alcohol-Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera is perfect for people with sensitive skin.

I use a toner every evening so I know my skin is cleansed of any excess dirt and residual make-up. I would love to try Thayers Rose Petal Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera for glowing skin! Sounds perfect for me.

I use toners all the time as i have fair sensitive skin so this is a product i would be really excited to try. I would like to try either the Lavender Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera or the other option is the Unscented Alcohol Free Toner with Witch Hazel Aloe Vera. I would love the chance to see how this product works on my skin as I have struggled to find products that feel good and work well.

I love using a toner, I've used one since I was 14 my grandmother used to buy them for me, they were witch hazel or rose water, I think they were the reason I never had pimples

I always intend to incorporate toner into my routine but never get around to doing so. I would love to try the unscented or lavender toner

I think toner is great, especially for my oily skin. But when I am in a rush it feels like a nice to have, rather than an essential. This is probably because I don't have a favourite toner (yet). I would love to try the rose petal one.

I’ve always used toner on my skin but I have never tried witch hazel but have heard about the benefits. I would love to be able to try Thayers Unscented Alcohol-Free Toner.

28th March, 2023

I would be keen to try either the rose petal or cucumber.

I've always been interested in using a toner, but haven't got around to it. I recently had a make-up lesson at Mecca and they said I should defs use a toner to prep and help my skin base! Unsure between Lavender and Rose Petal, as I have slight rosacea, but I also want that glowing skin! This toner sounds amazing, so would love to try it as my first toner!!

28th March, 2023

I'd love to try the rose or the lavender!

I use these toners and they are fantastic! I won't be putting my hand up for this trial team as I already own a bottle which is basically full size however I look forward to reviewing it when it's available!

28th March, 2023

I would love to try the cucumber toner! I go through patches of using toner then get busy and stop but I really should be more consistent with my toner use!

28th March, 2023

They all sound amazing, maybe the Cucumber one? I've heard great things about this toner.

28th March, 2023

I'd love to try the rose petal, I've never used toner to be frank so not sure what the fuss is about yet but would love the chance to judge for myself!

28th March, 2023

I’d love to try the witch hazel as this is an ingredient I used to use for my oily skin and it worked wonders. I have got out of the habit of using a toner but think I should re-introduce it to my routine.

28th March, 2023

I'd like to try lavender, my favourite fragrance, also good for my sensitive skin.
