Beauty products.  There is a lotion and potion for anything and everything.  Well this week we're delving in to the world of oils.

The idea of putting oil on your face can be daunting, especially if you're prone to oily skin. But did you know using oils can actually reduce oil production? Lipids dissolve lipids!

Check out our Lotions or Oils article for all the facts about using oils as a regular step in your skincare routine.

We've teamed up with an NZ company called Love Skin, founded by Jo, who specialises in handblended oils, perfect for your skin.

Love Skin oils return the love to your skin.  Created with all natural ingredients and organic oils, it’s a warm embrace to thank your skin for all the ways it protects us every day, returning the natural balance to your skin, soothing and supporting it to repair.

We're looking for three trial teams to put 3 Love Skin oils to the test:

Arohanui Oil - a rich velvety oil which helps to rejuvenate and revive tired skin.  It's an intense oil perfect for very dry or mature skin.

Je T'aime Oil - a light oil, which is easily absorbed into your skin, making it appropriate for daily use and for oil prone skin.

Ti Amo Oil - has been especially blended for use on sensitive or irritated skin.  It offers intensive hydration and nourishment, whilst remaining gentle enough to sooth sensitive skin.

So, why not tell us your thoughts on face oils - is it something you already use, or are you a little daunted at the prospect?  Which of the Love Skin oils sounds like the perfect one for you?

I love oil cleansing :)

I love Organic Virgin Coconut Oil for removing makeup and it just leaves my face creamy as and soft. (so amazing for removing eye makeup!!)

I also use Sweet Almond or Apricot , really depends on what I've got on hand.

I believe it's true when they say 'like attracts like' , so when you oil cleanse , the oils take out the dirt and oils of your skin. :)

I've never tried oil on my face, and I find it strange to think about it. I have oily skin naturally, so would be afraid of making it worse. Will be interesting to read the reviews!

I used to use coconut oil but found it just made my face shiny and more pimply. Now I use rose hip oil in place of a moisturiser and tea tree oil for pimples

I think I have only ever tried bio oil and it actually felt quite nice. It didnt feel as tho it would slide off my face at all and stayed on all night. I'd def give the Te Amo a go, it sounds really lovely

I currently don't use any oil on my face. However, I am interested in trying some face oils as I have heard a lot about them and they seem quite popular. I have combination skin on the oily side, so Je T' aime oil would probably be the most suitable for my skin as its quite light and good for oily prone skin. But I would love to try Ti Amo oil, as I have very sensitive skin, and I find it hard to find suitable face moisturisers for my skin. I have previously tired Trilogy's rosehip oil on my face, but found it irritated my skin and made it go red. So I would be interested to see what Ti Amo is like as it is specifically for sensitive skin.

I have tried bio oil in the past hoping it would get rid of my uneven skin tone and age spots but it did not seem to work for my skin type. After reading a number of comments from other BR members, I have since been using rosehip and I'm not sure if it is working yet but my spots seem to be gradually fading. I mostly use it at night and put it on with enough time for it to absorb into my skin before going to bed so it doesn't rub off onto my bed sheets. I'm also using it in the hope that it will help put some moisture balance back into my somewhat mature skin which requires a richer moisturiser very time I have a birthday. The Arohanui oil sounds like just what I need....something rejuvenating to bring my skin back to life and to smooth out those wrinkles and brighten my tired looking face after a hard day at work.

I haven't used oil on my face as a moisturiser before and would be interested to see the results. However, I have tried it as cleanser (Za Deep Cleansing Oil) in the form of a make-up remover, which I love. So given my love for cleansing oil, I have a feeling I would enjoy this as well.

I've been dying to try an oil treatment - I was just visiting North America and it looks like face oil is all the rage over there. I've got combination skin, so I'm a bit curious how the oil would work on my t-zone... but you never know till you try I guess :)

I have used Rose Hip oil in the past on my face. I find at times it can be difficult to apply the right amount so that your skin is moisturised though does not appear greasy or shiny. In my case, I have combination skin which makes it trickier to find the right balance

I love using oils, especially in winter. I tend to go for the pure oils, not oils like bio oil etc. I would love to try the arohanui oil. I use oils more for washing my face unless my skin is extra dry, then I'll use it as a nighttime moisturiser. I find oils way more beneficial for my skin than your normal moisturiser and I like that it is natural too.

I only started with out rosehip oil on my face a few months ago and I feel like it has made a difference on a few regular dry patches I was getting. I was very hesitant at first but now it's a regular part of my routine. I'm glad I gave it a go.

I have never tried oil on my face or body.... Clearly I am missing out!! I am very interested to hear about it's benefits :)

Only tea tree at this point. Will be adding in some others I think.

Id never put oil on my face till I trialled some on here (thank you BR) and now I really like it and it def helps when putting my foundation or bb cream on. Im using trilogys co-enzyme q10 oil at the mo but after all the good things ive heard about rosehip oil on here, ive just ordered some to try. I think id use the te amo in this brand, my skin has been a bit breaky out of late (hormones me thinks)
