Beauty products.  There is a lotion and potion for anything and everything.  Well this week we're delving in to the world of oils.

The idea of putting oil on your face can be daunting, especially if you're prone to oily skin. But did you know using oils can actually reduce oil production? Lipids dissolve lipids!

Check out our Lotions or Oils article for all the facts about using oils as a regular step in your skincare routine.

We've teamed up with an NZ company called Love Skin, founded by Jo, who specialises in handblended oils, perfect for your skin.

Love Skin oils return the love to your skin.  Created with all natural ingredients and organic oils, it’s a warm embrace to thank your skin for all the ways it protects us every day, returning the natural balance to your skin, soothing and supporting it to repair.

We're looking for three trial teams to put 3 Love Skin oils to the test:

Arohanui Oil - a rich velvety oil which helps to rejuvenate and revive tired skin.  It's an intense oil perfect for very dry or mature skin.

Je T'aime Oil - a light oil, which is easily absorbed into your skin, making it appropriate for daily use and for oil prone skin.

Ti Amo Oil - has been especially blended for use on sensitive or irritated skin.  It offers intensive hydration and nourishment, whilst remaining gentle enough to sooth sensitive skin.

So, why not tell us your thoughts on face oils - is it something you already use, or are you a little daunted at the prospect?  Which of the Love Skin oils sounds like the perfect one for you?

I have never used oil on my face - apart from trying to get rid of teenage zits with tea tree oil (I used it undiluted - thought my face was going to burn off). The idea of the Ti Amo Oil interests me as my facial skin can be quite sensitive. The thought of putting oil on my face to reduce oil is a bit daunting, but hey, try anything once, right?

I have never actually heard oils for skin and it is a tad daunting will give Anything a try tho the Je T'aime sounds fab.

I was really sceptical about using an oil on my face, thinking it would leave my skin greasy and spotty. But after talking to my friend Gillian Parkinson at Le'Esscience, she convinced me to try her BeautiFuel blend. I've never looked back. It soaks in easily and I've had fewer spots and breakouts since I've been using it. Who'd have thought? Creams now feel too heavy for my skin. As a "maturing" lady, Arohanui sounds perfect for me. Especially as I exercise outdoors a lot. My skin gets a hammering!

I have never tried face oil, however yes I am a little daunted by the idea. Worried it will block my pores and cause breakouts, or not absorb and leave my face looking oily.

I have got dry, sensitive skin at times, so would be open to testing it out :)

I have used a few different oils on my skin with 50/50 results. Coconut oil was lovely but congested my skin. Rosehip oil is nourishing my leaves my skin a bit more oily than normal. I love the feel and nourishment oil gives so would love to dry some different ones!

I love Rosehip oil on my face, helps to get rid of acne scarring!

I use rosehip oil on my face, and it's been so great and improved my dry skin considerably. Would love to try this out!

I have oily skin so the thought of oil on my face always scared me! A few years back after hearing the hype about bio oil I decided to give that a go and really didn't like the product, it did nothing positive for my skin. Since then I've stayed away from oils but if there was one that could benefit my skin without the slick I would definately be interested! I suppose it's like moisturiser, until a few months ago I rarely moisturised because I didn't think I need to but with the right product I do it twice a day now.

I've tried two oils on my skin - one was Bio Oil which did nothing (note to self, must write that review) and the other was Trilogy's Rosehip Oil which also appeared to do nothing. So far I'm not fussed - but I'd love to be proven wrong :)

Good to know - thanks for explaining that :)

The opposite actually! I didn't moisturise because it was so oily and didn't think I needed to/might make the oil worse. Turns out this was the worst idea! Since I started moisturising consistently I've noticed a great improvement in my skin

Ohhhh that sounds great I've tried bio oil and coconut oil to fade the acne scars but maybe I should try the rosehip oil :)
