***THIS TRIAL OPPORTUNITY IS NOW CLOSED***

We've spoken before about how the right fragrance can shape your mood - but can a lipstick do the same?

Those clever Vegetarian sausages at Lush think so!  They've created a cosmetic range called Emotional Brilliance that matches your psychological needs with the colours you should be wearing.  Forget what colours the magazines or catwalk say you should be wearing, forget the words en-trend,in fashion or current - and wear something that's designed for your needs.

Emotional Brilliance works by pairing a colour to the word that reflects the mood you want to embody.  You wear them to get that point across. It’s the power of suggestion –believe in it and you will then start to behave in a certain way.

Well we couldn't resist the chance to try something that's just a little bit out-there and so we've teamed up with our friends at Lush to bring you this brilliant trial opportunity.

We're putting Emotional Brilliance Drive to the test.  This liquid lipstick has a super softening base, which is a simple blend of organic jojoba oil, candelilla wax and rose wax.  These three ingredients are intensely skin softening and soofthing and hold the pigment incredibly well.

If you'd like to put Drive to the test why not tell us your thoughts on how colours affect mood - do you believe in the power of Emotional Brilliance?  Where would you take Drive out for a spin?

Absolutely! It doesn't even matter what colour, applying it instantly helps boost my mood and confidence.

I had never been a lippy girl until about 6 months ago. Lippy definitely changes my mood and im alot more confident wearing it now.

Some bright Lippy makes everything seem a little brighter.

Sounds fab. Bright Lippy and me are best friends and I'd love to try a purple :D Come at me Drive

Colours are moods, bright lippies are going to make you feel and look...happy and bright and bubbly. Dark lippies will do the opposite. For most anyway. I love my dark lippies, especially when I'm going out at night. This colour would be perfect on dates or on days you need a little pick me up.

I totally believe that lipstick can influence your mood. I have one that makes me feel flirty (a red one, that has a hint of daring), one that makes me feel like I stand down/have lots of confidence (my bright pastel type purple), and one that makes me feel pretty (a pinky/purple colour). I would love to test out one that influences drive, I think it may help me with staying on task with my studies! :) I also enjoy the fact that it uses ingredients that soften... who doesn't want suple lips?

What a fabulous idea - absolutely brilliant! So many things can affect our moods, scents, colours etc so it makes sense that a lipstick range supports that. I would say I am usually the other way around in that I pick my lippie to suit my mood, but I like the idea of taking control and choosing a lippie to set your mood, how empowering! And I love this colour ;)

First of all purple is my fave colour! I dress in a certain way at work to get across how I want to be perceived and of course my make up works in with this. If I want to be seen as super confident then it's time to break out a very bold lippy. Sometimes you need a bit of a boost to get into the mind frame you need and for me that is certainly through lippy. And let's face it should couldn't do with a boost of drive around the office.

I love this! I find that colour really affects my mood and dress to suit it. I also live in a house with loads of bright colours everywhere which has a great influence on how I feel. I've just started experimenting with bright lippies so this would be perfect!

I think lipstick definitely has emotional effects. I got a red lipstick last night and I put it on, it just didn't suit me and I fell terribly awkward and had to take it off, I couldn't have worn it out in public feeling that way. If I was picked for this trial I think I'd take it for a drive at work, as work is somewhere I'm currently lacking drive!

What you wear, both in clothes and make up, has a huge effect on how you feel. I know when I wear certain colours ( beige, tan, cream) I feel sludgy and yuck and that when I wear bright, clear colours I feel energised and happy. Would love to trial this lippy and see its effects!

Absolutely agree lippy can influence mood-after a recent marriage break up I really use lippy as a barometer for my feelings. Would love to trial this colour and from an ethical company as well! Have never used liquid lippy ( apart from gloss) so will be interesting.

That is a Stunning colour! I'd wear it work, or wherever I was wanting to concentrate on something, but not likely to go out drinking in it as no one should drink & drive, what a waste of beautiful colour on a wine glass!

18th January, 2015

I have never thought about how color would affect my mood. I always put on the same color just to be safe. But I love the idea. It would be great to try this one out.

I think colour definitely affects your mood. When you're wearing your favourite colour, I bet you feel more confident. If you want to feel brighter, I bet you reach for something yellow or orange. I know colours that are duller make me feel less like I stand out, but sometimes that's how I want to be. But most of the time, I'm in bold, bright block colours, coz I want to feel awesome! ;)
