Does your primer offer a high SPF?

If there's one thing this pommy girl loves about New Zealand, it's the weather.  More specifically, the sun.  Long summer days filled with sunshine.  And even in Winter there's still a lot of sun.  Which kind of caught me out my first Winter here.

See in the UK Winter is grey, dreary and wet.  If the sun shines it probably means the world has been knocked off its axis.  So when I heard New Zealand had a similar weather pattern to the UK, albeit reversed, I completely forgot about sun protection.  Yes I was sunburnt in Winter.  A true pom abroad.

Why all this talk about Winter?  Well, Summer is on it's way out, which means many people stop using sunscreen.  Some rely on 'added SPF' in their daily beauty products like moisturisers or BB creams, but if they skip the product for a day, they're going out without any sun protection at all.  And in most products, 'added SPF' is intended to be a booster to regular sunscreen, usually offering no more than a Sun Protection Factor of 15.

Za True White Perfect Protector is a primer with a difference.  It's a primer that's primarily a sunscreen - it offers SPF 50+!  Meaning not only are you creating the perfect base for your makeup, you're protecting your skin from the damaging effects of UV exposure.

The other benefits of this product include:

  • Evens out skin tone and provides the perfect base for foundation.
  • Pollutant Protect Powder.
  • Oil Control Powder to absorb excess sebum and create a long lasting matte look.
  • Triple Vitamin C to prevent freckles and pigmentation.

If you'd like to put your hand up to trial this fabulous product, why not tell us why you think you'd benefit from it.  Does your regular primer offer a high SPF?  Are you diligent about sun protection all year round or do you stop worrying when summer is over?

My Oasis Apple a Day overs an spf of 25. I will never not wear sunscreen and if I do I stay inside with all the curtain drawn. For me spf of 15 is the moisturizer I wear on rainy, cloudy days inside or winter. I haven't really used a primer much other than Apple a Day. I do want to get Dermalogica's Primer some time when I can afford it since I'm religious about sunscreen.

i need a higher spf, currently using a mosturiser with spf of 15. This sounds pretty amazing

I don't use a primer, but I would like to use SPF a bit more. I'd definitely be interested to see what this product delivers!

I don't use primer but I use high SPF 50+ sunscreen everyday. I apply throughout the year but can be a bit hit and miss during winter time. It seems like too many layers to apply primer over sunscreen over moisturiser and then apply foundation and powder etc. I've simplified recently with high tinted moisturiser so would love a multi tasking product to combine the other two steps

I would love to try this as I used to rely on the SPF in my bronzer but I've just switched to one with none it and have been wondering how to get an SPF into my regimen. Also anything to help banish the dreaded shine is greatly appreciated!

I'm on the hunt for a new primer and I really need to start making sure I use an SPF so this is a product I'll be looking into

I use my Za BB Cream as a primer and it does have a high SPF (43+++), but I'd be interested to see if this works better as a primer.

My previous primer was not an SPF I relied on bb cream for the sun protection factor, but I love the idea of the primer having SPF too. I wonder though, will it make it greasy and effect the coverage and staying power of make up. Very please to see so woken is upping the anti to a 50spf . Will def be trying this primer as my dermalogica one is just about done and I wanted to try a new one.

I have only recently discovered the benefits of primer, neither of mine have spf so this would be great as I have skin that likes to pack a sad if I spend too much time in the sun or use a sunscreen that doesn't agree with my skin

For me, not using sunscreen is like having that extra piece of cake - its something I know I shouldn't do, but I do it anyway. My Australis primer has no SPF at all!

To be honest I am shocking when it comes to putting sunscreen on, to me it's one more extra thing to worry about! My current primer doesn't have SPF, having sunscreen in a primer would absolutely be ideal for me - no extra time, makes getting ready faster & would be great feeling knowing I'm killing two birds with one stone!

I currently wear clinique city block spot as a primer. I live the spa but find that I break ouout with it :( I'd love to compare a different brand

I am seeking a new primer as my last one is now discontinued... WHY?! I will be reading eagerly as Za has come on to my radar since BRs December beauty box and liking what I have so far.

Would love to try this out simply to see how it performs. I am out in the Sun so much that an SPF 50 would be awesome.

I'd love to try this product as now that the summer weather is turning, I tend to still be fastidious about putting sunscreen on my children but forget about myself - and I hate putting make-up on over the top of a greasy sunscreen. A lovely product like this would make me use it every day and feel like I was treating myself.
