Does your primer offer a high SPF?

If there's one thing this pommy girl loves about New Zealand, it's the weather.  More specifically, the sun.  Long summer days filled with sunshine.  And even in Winter there's still a lot of sun.  Which kind of caught me out my first Winter here.

See in the UK Winter is grey, dreary and wet.  If the sun shines it probably means the world has been knocked off its axis.  So when I heard New Zealand had a similar weather pattern to the UK, albeit reversed, I completely forgot about sun protection.  Yes I was sunburnt in Winter.  A true pom abroad.

Why all this talk about Winter?  Well, Summer is on it's way out, which means many people stop using sunscreen.  Some rely on 'added SPF' in their daily beauty products like moisturisers or BB creams, but if they skip the product for a day, they're going out without any sun protection at all.  And in most products, 'added SPF' is intended to be a booster to regular sunscreen, usually offering no more than a Sun Protection Factor of 15.

Za True White Perfect Protector is a primer with a difference.  It's a primer that's primarily a sunscreen - it offers SPF 50+!  Meaning not only are you creating the perfect base for your makeup, you're protecting your skin from the damaging effects of UV exposure.

The other benefits of this product include:

  • Evens out skin tone and provides the perfect base for foundation.
  • Pollutant Protect Powder.
  • Oil Control Powder to absorb excess sebum and create a long lasting matte look.
  • Triple Vitamin C to prevent freckles and pigmentation.

If you'd like to put your hand up to trial this fabulous product, why not tell us why you think you'd benefit from it.  Does your regular primer offer a high SPF?  Are you diligent about sun protection all year round or do you stop worrying when summer is over?

With skin like mine, I alway use high SPF sunscreens, but have never found a primer to offer such a nice high SPF rating. I would love to try this as now that I am in my early 30's I am really doing all I can to ensure my skin stays looking young(ish) for as long as possible and I want to look after it the best I can. I think this will go a long way to helping.

I love the sound of a primer that helps prevents freckles, my primer doesn't have any SPF in it. So I would love to try this one!

I'd love to try a primer that will not only help my foundation to look better, but will treat my pigmentation. This sounds fantastic!

I use garnier spf 50 for fair skin. would love to try this out. Please

My primer doesn't have any SPF qualities and lately I've been having some issues with oily areas. I would definitely love to try this product. Definitely looking forward to reading the reviews!

Wow spf 50 that's pretty impressive! I've been using a bb cream with spf 30 but it's starting to feel a bit too heavy for this chick so maybe a primer with a higher spf might be the way to go. I'm quite impressed with ZA products way too go ????

I've been looking for a primer with SPF for the longest time! Argh! As I am a pale, freckled soul, I have to apply SPF daily, then let it soak in before I can apply my primer, it's such a pain in the rear! Eliminating the step of applying SPF would be such a treat!

I have never used a primer but I have always wanted to try one and SPF 50 makes this one very attractive! My foundation only has a low SPF so to know I was wearing 50 plus the added benefit of using a primer would be awesome.

This product sounds like it has been designed for me exclusively - I have fair skin and burn so easily, so I love the fact that it is SPF50.....any woman living in NZ should love that fact! My biggest gripe when trying to buy face products is that I have oily skin and nothing seems to stay fresh looking, even when it promises too :( so I love the idea that this product has an oil control powder - I long to have an amazing matte finish! Plus the skin evening and the triple vitamin c are just the cherry on the top

This sounds amazing

I need this product! Seeking a great primer and the fact my moisturiser (which I love!) does not contain any sun protection is a concern for me.

SPF 50 wow my main primer the Stila one step correct doesn't contain SPF

My current primer doesn't use SPF but I defiantly think that it is a great thing to include especially with the sun damage being higher in NZ.

I'd love this! I always forget sunscreen in winter and end up with a burnt nose :( having a primer with spf would make me remember :) plus I don't even have a primer but I want one!

This looks impressive! A primer with a dual purpose! U.S. farmers could really utilise that! How many of us apply makeup with a standard primer forgetting sunscreen and just rock on with the day? I like to look good while I am in town doing townie things but having a dual purpose means that is one more thing I won't need to worry about!
