Five Fab Reasons To Love Apple Cider Vinegar!

By BR Amelia

We do love a good beauty find here at BRHQ, especially if its something that's already in our cupboard. Masks made from egg white, sugar and olive oil mixed up for a quick lip scrub... you get the picture. One of our favourite in-home products that has a multitude of uses is Apple Cider Vinegar. So what can this liquidy gem do to help us up our beauty game? Read on...

Deodorise.

Feet not so fresh? Grab a bucket of warm water, add a good dash of Apple Cider Vinegar and soak the smell away.

Tone.

Mix ACD with distilled water and you've got yourself a facial toner - bonus, because of ACD's antibacterial awesomeness it can help ward of those pesky pimples!

Shine.

If your hair's looking dull, or if product build up is a problem, Apple Cider Vinegar can come to the rescue! Create a concoction of three tablespoons of the vinegar mixed in with two cups of water. Then once a week, after you've shampooed, pop the mix through your hair, leave it to do its thing for five minutes, then rinse out.

'Druff

Dandruff an issue? Go for a 50/50 mix of water and ACD. Apply it to your hair before you shampoo, massage it in for a few minutes, leave it in for another few minutes, then rinse it out before going about your usual shampoo/condition routine.

Mix

Skin in a bit of a funk? BR Kellie swears by combining apple cider vinegar with her Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay to get fresher, more fabulous skin. She’s even tried it without the ACV by mixing the clay with water and she thinks the results are most definitely nowhere near as good.

Remember, when using apple cider vinegar you're going to want to dilute it - the 50/50 water/ACV rule is a good place to start - and don’t forget to do a spot test before going the whole hog!

So do tell, are you a fan of the apple cider vinegar? How do you incorporate it into your beauty regime? Is apple cider vinegar something you’re yet to try? Or do you think vinegar – any kind – is best on the pantry shelf and not on your beauty one? Chat away!

I actually used Apple Cider vinegar to get rid of a skin tag I had for years. Took a while and it did affect my skin a little bit, but the pesky bugger has gone and my skin has recovered from the acidity of the product!

I would like to try this on my hair but wouldn't want to drink it.

28th July, 2017

Drinking it is the way to go - about a tablespoon in a glass of water daily. I haven't taken it for ages but am going to get some and start drinking it again. I have hip dysplasia and it is really good for joints :)

I use ACV to make a cold/flu busting tea. 2 T ACV With honey, garlic clove, pinch of cayenne, lemon juice and cup of water beats a sore throats and aches and pains in no time! My boys call it my witches brew. I also use it as a pimple busting wipe on a cotton pad after cleansing. Never leave home without it :)

I've heard of all of the benefits of using ACV however I personally can't stand the smell for that long

25th July, 2017

I've just had a friend recommend ACV for weight loss support - I love these other suggestions

25th July, 2017

Not tried it I could be open to on my hair though only if it smells okay...

25th July, 2017

I'm not a fan because I can't stand the smell.

24th July, 2017

Yes I like ACV! I used it as a toner and it worked really well at reducing shine and evening out skin tone.

24th July, 2017

I have not tried ACV yet. I see recipies for this to help with digestion but I am yet to try. This has so many uses, time to pop off to the supermarket to try these things for myself.

24th July, 2017

I've tried doing the ACV in water thing but I just couldn't get over the taste- I prefer lemon. I might try and give it a go as I've heard so much about the health benefits. I haven't used it as a beauty product. I do use white vinegar in home made cleaning products though.

24th July, 2017

I've done ACV hair rinses to complete washing my hair with baking soda. It's good for making sure you getting the suds out of your hair if you use shampoo or getting rid of a build up of hair product. I haven't used it on my face because it stings.

24th July, 2017

I love ACV! I use it as a toner and a hair rinse. I've now got lots of different concoctions I use, using fresh herbs, essential oils. So much better for you and so affordable! My hair and skin have definitely improved since I have been using this.

24th July, 2017

Personally, it is something I'm yet to try. I've heard many wives tales but never really believed the hype - except maybe the hair shine thing. But that's because I've read it on BR a few times.

I've been hearing so much about this product but only for weight loss. This is interesting and makes me want to buy it even more now!

its honestly amazing - it took me a little while to figure out the measurements to suit me and what herbs/essential oils would be good, but once I did, I was sorted :)
