Four Things to Steal From Your Baby Bag!

by BR Natalie

I haven't carried a hand bag in years  Between wrangling the 5 year old explorer and wearing The Beast I stopped carrying anything I could do without.  I live out of my pockets and the nappy bag.  Which means I've quickly learned what many mums before me have discovered - baby products are not just for babies.

Here's my top four baby products that work just as well for the grown ups!

Nipple Cream

Ahhhh nipple cream, how do I love thee...  You can use it in anyway you'd use lip balm, Vaseline or any other multi purpose balm.  Dry lips, dry or cracked cuticles, ezcema flare ups, skin splits.  My favourite use is to apply it to sore spots on my feet where my shoes rub.

Baby Wipes

Numero uno - don't be a regular user of baby wipes on your face.  They're not made for removing makeup and you'll end up scrubbing thrice as hard, and damaging your skin.  What else have I used baby wipes for?  Freshening up pongy pits on hot summer days, removing deodorant and make-up marks from clothing and taming fly-away hair.

Baby lotion

Well this one's a bit self-explanatory.  You can use baby lotion in lieu of your usual body lotion, but it's also gentle enough for use on your face.  It makes a great light moisturiser, as well as an on-the-go hand cream!

Baby powder

Ok, I hate to sound like one of those 'ingredients conspiracy theorists' but I will admit, when it comes to baby powder I avoid talc based products like the plague.  I use a corn starch powder, but I use it more on 'other' uses than I do on baby butts!  It makes a great dry shampoo for humans and dogs (use sparingly on both!).  My favourite use is on beach days - when you're ready to dust the sand off of legs and toes, sprinkle them with baby powder first.  The sand will just brush away!  Ooo and one I haven't tried, but I will be next week - when waxing your legs, sprinkle them with baby powder first, then apply the wax.  The powder will absorb moisture, allowing the wax to stick to every hair, but not so much the skin - apparently making it less painful!

So there you go, four baby products this big kid uses herself regularly.  Any products and tips to add?

I loved using Weleda Calendula Lotion when I had my munchkins. I really love that wax tip though, may have to give that one a go if I ever use waxing on my legs.

My "baby" is 4 now and I still buy the fragrance free baby wipes lol, great for all sorts of things

You won't believe that I still use the Johnsons baby lotion till date for my hand and feet and maybe that's the reason my hands are very soft and my husband just loves them.

I heard the tip that if you mess up your makeup and need to clean up a bit and try again you should use a baby wipe instead of makeup remover as it won't stop the product applying when you try again.

Never seen the wax tip before, but it makes sense! Wonder if it works with wax strips too?

Defiantly baby wipes and talcum powder

I used to use cornstarch in lieu of powder in my younger years, partly because I was a miser and didn't want to fork out for some fragranced talc and secondly because my parents told me talc wasn't healthy to use.
