For all my beauty fails, when it comes to taking care of my fragrance I get an A+. My fragrances get put in a dark cupboard, in a space that doesn't get heat fluctuations and they never, ever see the light of day. Which is all well and good, except some fragrances come in bottles that are so beautiful they might as well be works of art, and really ought to be put out on a dresser or upon a vintage tray in a living area for those passing to admire.
The latest fragrances to catch our beauty-loving eyes? Check these pretties out...
Guerlain Idylle
Oooh la la! That's what comes to mind whenever I see Idylle from Guerlain. It makes me think of the roaring 20s, of French salons filled with beautiful people having fascinating conversations, of a time gone by that we can only hope to emulate. Très magnifique!
Lubin Upper Ten Woman
There's something so simple yet feminine about Lubin's Upper Ten Woman. Its curvaceousness combined with the lemon ombre bottle and simple black top create a showstopping fragrance that proves you don't need bling on a bottle to make it beautiful.
Thierry Mugler Alien Goddess Intense
Could a fragrance be more perfectly matched to its packaging? Thierry Mugler's Alien Goddess feels remote, distant, a little spiky, and yet you want to touch it, smell it, know it... own it.
BVLGARI Omnia Capsule
Love this bottle? Grab it now, because it's limited edition, as part of a collaboration between Bvlgari Parfums and fashion designer Mary Katrantzou. The classic bottle with the kaleidoscopic design is nothing short of hypnotic.
Elie Saab Girl of Now Lovely
I am a sucker for a turquoise moment, and the hint of turquoise paired with the pretty peachy-pink creates a serious case of the swoons. I'm putting this scent on my must-sniff list next time I'm in a department store, because if it smells as good as it looks, I'm buying it.
Valentino Valentina
Proving that subtle is always in style, Valentino's Valentina scent is sculpturally stunning and wonderfully understated. It's the little black dress of the fragrance world.
Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle
What list of gorgeous fragrance bottles would be complete without Jean Paul Gaultier? His female torso fragrances are iconic, and we're especially in love with this one. From the ombre red to the garland of roses decorating the neck of the bottle, this version is divine.
GUCCI The Alchemist's Garden A Chant for the Nymph
Gauche or gorgeous? That's the debate in BRHQ when it comes to this particular bottle. Half the team thinks it's delightful, the other half dire. Me? I'm strangely attracted to it. It's my Adam Driver. I can't say why I think it's wonderful, I just do.
Versace Dylan Turquoise
Personally, this is my idea of gauche, but in an effort to appease my BR belles, I agreed that I'd showcase its, er, beauty. Admittedly, the shade of blue is divine, and the shape of the bottle is attractive. As for the gold top emblazoned with the Versace name? If you like to show off the brands you like to splash your cash on, then this is for you.
Tom Ford Black Orchid Gold
This fragrance knows it's the bougie boss of the perfume world and it's proud of it. It's the red stilettoes in your wardrobe. The sequin sheath you wear out when you're out to have a good time and want everyone to know it. It's the powersuit you wear when you're going to make power moves. I should hate it. It's everything I'm not. And yet I love it. Bravo, Mr Ford.
