Freckles Get Their Chance To Shine!

You know what I think is super cute? Freckles. I adore the way they smatter across cheeks and noses, adding personality to a person's face. They make me think a pixie has been munching chocolate and then blessed a person with chocolaty-lipped kisses. I wish I had them. But, sigh, I do not. Thanks to the power of makeup if we freckle-lovers really wanted to we could create the illusion of freckles, kind of like how people fake a beauty spot on their upper lip area. But why stick to pixie kisses, when we can go total next level and embrace the hot new trend and bedazzle ourselves with sparkly, glittery, metallic freckles. Seriously, how gorgeous do they look? It's like a unicorn blew a spitty kiss and the remnants turned to happiness on your face.

What's especially enjoyable about this trend is that you can be as extra or as simple as you're comfortable with. So you can go crazy with the glitter and glue or you can take a metallic eyeliner and just do a few dots across the cheeks and bridge of your nose.

Of course if you're not confident in your dotting abillities you can always pick up a DIY pack - like Mr Kate BeautyMarks. These hand painted metallic freckles work like a temporary tattoo, and can be cut and applied in a way that suits and feels comfortable for you. Best of all? Mr Kate ships to New Zealand, so it's not another product we can swoon over and then sigh when we realise we don't have acces to it.

Now the powers that be, the great 'they', are touting this gorgeous sparky metallic freckle look as the must-have look for festival season. But you know what? I reckon they'd look just as cute while you did the vaccuuming, washing and general life stuff. Why wait for an excuse when you can look like a unicorn sneezed on you now?

So... are glitter or metallic freckles your thing? Are you on board? Or is this another trend that you're happy to let pass you by? Chat away!

It looks cute on these young, pretty girls. If I was young I'd wear them to a party (disco??) but I'd look a right plank wearing something like that nowadays hahahaha

1st June, 2017

I think I'll let it pass me by. Not sure if in the outside world this trend will take off.

Interesting hehe, I have freckles so I wonder what the metallic looks like...maybe I could just dot all over my freckles to see what it looks like. Not really a fan of fake freckles though...people have this view that they're all just little dots..I love the chocolate description :)

I've never been bothered either way about freckles, this is a trend I'll miss.

Other than going to a photoshoot, dress up party, or going out with your friends to a really weird rave, there isn't much place for this look in my opinion. Some of the pics though are admittedly very cute.

Looks cute but it's more for like costume or instagram makeup not an everyday thing. I don't think I would spend money on the look.

1st June, 2017

Looks like the kinda thing I might do at a music festival like coachella or something. Not brave enough for that in everyday life though.

1st June, 2017

Very cute! But not so cute on me hahaha

They aren't my thing and to be honest I think drawn on freckles look weird. I have real freckles but only a smallish amount. I don't hate them but even if I loved freckles I would never draw them on or use glitter or metallic material to make them. Like Lisa Lou said really only if you're dressing up as a fairy....for me anyway.
