Longer lashes.  Thicker lashes.  Who doesn't want one, or both of those things?  Imagine not needing to use mascara every day just to look alive?  A lash serum might just be what you need, but in a crowded market, where's a gal to start?

Well I've done the hard graft for you and narrowed down your options.  And it's not based on brands, editors or even the Beauty Crew's opinions.  As if!  We present New Zealand's Top Three Lash Serums as rated by shoppers that have bought them and used them and LOVED them - real Kiwis, just like you!

fLash.  Rated: 4.5/5

They Say:  Flash Eyelash Serum is a lash conditioning serum that dramatically enhances lash length and fullness within weeks. It is physician formulated and tested. Flash should be applied daily along the lash line. It is also cruelty-free.

You Say:  I bought this on recommendation of a friend. Best eyelash serum ever! It really made my eyelashes longer, thicker, darker and just softer feeling to the touch! It's easy to apply gel that does not irritate my eyes. I apply it to the lash line before bed or 15 minutes before I do my makeup in the morning and I could notice the difference in my lashes in 2 weeks! They got darker and thicker! I was stoked! After about 5-6 weeks I noticed my eyelashes had doubled in size!! This lash serum is just an amazing product and well worth the money if you are looking for luscious eyelashes without wearing falsies every day.  Beauty Reviewer: fairyfluff

Revitalash.  Rated: 4.7/5

They Say:  Enhance the look of luxurious eyelashes for dramatic, natural beauty. This finely-calibrated breakthrough cosmetic formula addresses the visual signs of eyelash aging and stress – dry, brittle, lifeless lashes.  A proprietary blend of scientifically-advanced technology and natural botanicals join in concert to protect against breakage and brittleness and improve flexibility, moisture, and shine for more dramatic-looking eyelashes.

You Say:  I ruined my eyelashes a few years back after getting extensions, then ended up pulling them out when they got all sparse and clumpy and looked ridiculous. I was left with stubby, sparse natural eyelashes that never really grew back.I purchased a 6 month supply of Revitalash and have never looked back! It took about 2-3 weeks before I noticed a difference, and a few more weeks before everyone else started noticing! I had long, thick, full looking natural lashes. They looked beautiful, and were so long that when I curled and put mascara on, they could touch my glasses!  Beauty Reviewer: victoriajayne

Lilash  Rated: 4.8/5

They Say:  conditioning serum for stronger, longer lashes in 6-8 weeks. Physician formulated and clinically tested, it has a combination of natural conditioners and highly effective active ingredients to boost growth. It has a non-irritating formula, is paraben free, petro-chemical free and salt free. Suitable for use with eyelash extensions – LiLash will strengthen and condition your natural lashes making extensions easier to apply and resulting in reduced lash breakage.

You Say: I have been using lilash for about 6 months now and the product has completely transformed my lashes. I had short and thin lashes - not many of them either! And my lashes are now long and thick. Getting asked constantly where I get my eyelash extensions done and I have to explain how I just use this amazing product! I recommend everyone to try! I have tried other lash serums but this one by far is the best! Beauty Reviewer: darlingtonnikita

*Just remember - the cycle of your eyelashes is on average 3 months long.  This means whatever serum you use, the effects will only last as long as your eyelash cycle.  You're only going to achieve maximum results from your lash serum if you are judicious about using them.  You need to be both consistent and persistent in applying the serum to your lash line every evening.  Only when the serum is regularly stimulating the hair follicles will it begin to enact its lengthening and strengthening properties.

Trilogy Very Gentle Calming Serum.  Rated: 4.8/5

They Say:  Soothe the weakened skin barrier and calm fragile or irritated skin with this gentle, first defence rescue serum.

You Say: SOS for your skin! It's a nice product to have if you suffer eczema or very sensitive skin and you sometimes can't use products, you could just use this alone as a gentle moisturiser. It comes in a 30ml bottle and as with the other [Trilogy] products a little goes a long way so it's good value and I am adding this to my skincare regime. It's a must have for me now!  Beauty Reviewer: JennyWren

Oasis Hot Toddy Serum.  Rated: 4.7/5

They Say:  This deliciously concentrated beauty cocktail has been artfully crafted to provide corrective hydration directly to the deeper layers of dry, sensitive or prematurely aged skin.

You Say:  This re-hydrated my skin and protected it so well. After a week of using this serum my skin was glowing and felt amazing, a week prior it was sore and dry. I was really happy with this product and will continue to use it.  Beauty Reviewer: Salem29

Oasis Beauty Straight Up Serum.  Rated: 4.6/5

They Say:  A concentrated cocktail of important ingredients delivered directly to the deeper layers of your skin. Straight Up is mixed to help control oil production and breakouts.

You Say: This stuff is pure gold. It is my little bit of luxury at the end of each day. I apply this before bed straight after cleansing and toning with Oasis products if budget allows. My skin laps it up and immediately my skin glows. Long term my face has cleared up of blemishes and reduction of oil. Overall moisture levels have increased.  Beauty Reviewer:  writetokellsz

Antipodes Divine Face Oil.  Rated: 4.5/5

They Say:  Give a lift to tired, stressed and sun-damaged skin with this nutrient-rich face oil that helps to deliver antioxidants and essential nourishment for fresh, healthy skin.

You Say:  The best part is waking up with soft, smooth and hydrated skin! I personally used this as part of my night time skin care routine and absolutely loved it. One of those items that will be permanently on my repurchase list.  Beauty Reviewer: katenisbet

Oxygen Ultimate Botanical Serum.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  Experience the revitalising and clarifying benefits of using a highly concentrated formula created created with local NZ hops, along with organic camellia and apricot oils.

You Say:  The serum itself has a really unusual consistency, it looks creamy, but feels fluffy - it's divine!  Since using this my skin is more supple, I have not had any breakouts, and it has a soft sort of radiance to it. This really is liquid gold!  Beauty Reviewer: SandieNZ

Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil.  Rated: 4.4/5

They Say:  For those who are time poor or can not fit a regular facial into the budget, this is the perfect product which combines the positive effects of an indulgent facial into your daily skincare regime.

You Say:  After a few days of regular use I noticed that my skin looked a lot brighter and healthier which is great at the moment as I am not the healthiest so anything is a bonus! I've also noticed that scars on my face are far less noticeable. My skin also feels a lot softer. I would absolutely recommend this oil and it is definitely worth the slightly higher price. Beauty Reviewer:  Justinet

Trilogy Very Gentle Restoring Oil.  Rated: 4.3/5

They Say:  Repair and protect sensitive skin with maqui berry, apricot, and sea buckthorn.

You Say: It's super gentle, leaving no irritation, and is calming for flushed, irritated skin, while really restoring winter-ravaged skin. The morning after using it my skin is lovely and soft and supple, and I have had no break outs with it. You only need a few drops to get maximum results - I can't recommend it enough!  Beauty Reviewer: KiwiLass

Trilogy Nutrient Plus Firming Serum.  Rated: 4.2/5

They Say:   Perfect everyday, or for special occasions, it's the ideal skin pick-me-up for a youthful look and feel.

You Say:   This is one of those crazy products that you stumble across, where you can see and feel the difference right away. It really sunk into my skin quite quickly and felt it start to tighten. I just couldn't get over how amazing it was.  Beauty Reviewer: Katya

Evolu Rosehip & Friends.  Rated: 4.2/5

They Say:  This gentle facial oil is your skin’s daily infusion of radiance-renewing goodness, powered by a unique synergy of skin-friendly botanicals.

You Say:  All in all the price tag, the size of the bottle, the fact it is full of natural goodness and the way my skin glows when I use it is definitely a cause for recommendation, it's really lovely and feels a lot more luxurious that it's $29.99 selling price. Also it's an NZ brand, what more could you ask for!?  Beauty Reviewer:  LLL1985

Living Nature Radiance Night Oil.  Rated: 4.1/5

They Say:  With Rose Oil to naturally stimulate your skin's own collagen production, Organic Rosehip Oil to aid cell regeneration and repair damaged skin tissue.

You Say:  Its now been 1 month since using the Radiance oil both morning and night and I cant imagine living without this product. My fine lines have reduced immensely, each time I get scabs they heal quickly and the dryness around my nose has disappeared. I love how it gives my skin a glow without makeup and when I do apply foundation or makeup it doesn't crease under my eyes and I dont use as much foundation as I normally do because my skin is really good. Beauty Reviewer:  Lutece

I haven't tried a lash serum but I want to and intend to!

4th February, 2018

I've used Revitalash and found that it made such a difference. I have hooded eyes so when I have my eyes open, it is quite obvious the length of my lashes, but after using Revitalash for a few months, I have noticed them getting longer and longer, while also feel like im seeing more!

4th February, 2018

I have used a serum but can’t remember what, possibly Flash, I still have stumpy lashes!

4th February, 2018

I considered buying Lilash after reading great reviews, but after doing some research I found that castor oil also has hair growth properties. I have been using castor oil for over a year now and I can highly recommend it. It strengthens the hair follicle where your lashes grows, meaning the lashes don't fall out so quickly/easily, allowing them to grow longer. I love that it is cheap (about $15 for 200ml) and natural.

I will still definitely use a lash serum one day, but for now castor oil is great!

I was considering extensions but much prefer the idea of lash serum! These recommendations are great - fLash looks like a good one for me! Good price and results

2nd February, 2018

Flash it's been my favourite for 3 years It works they grow I used to have stumpy wee lashes and now I have nice long lashes Love love love

2nd February, 2018

I've used both Lilash and Flash and they both are great. Using Flash now though as it's quite a bit cheaper, but I think Lilash is the better one.

Ohhhhh so helpful! I've been trying to decide which to try!

29th January, 2018

I’ve used Revitalash and fLash now and absolutely love fLash! Such a great price point and oh so effective. I’m constantly getting asked who does my extensions and I love being able to tell them about fLash. Although seeing the review I’m tempted to try LiLash now

Ooh I'll have to check these out! I've considered using a lash serum but with so many out there now it's hard to know where to begin.

How do you apply the castor oil? I've already got a bottle which I'm not using atm.

EliseMM
4th February, 2018

I got a cheap bottle of liquid eyeliner from a $2 shop. I cleaned it out and put the castor oil in the bottle, and use the brush applicator to coat the base of my lashes!

EliseMM

You will notice the castor oil is quite sticky when you wake up, but when you wash your face in the morning it clears up right away.

So true. I found that out when I tried using castor oil to help me sleep. Which it also does.

That's why I bought the castor oil, Maree, after your tip about helping you sleep. Didn't work for me though. Will try it again though for my eyelashes' sake.
