April 14. We are ready for you.
At home? Browsers will be refreshed constantly.
Instore? Pointed elbows at the ready. We may even get hold of a cane for a little ankle-tapping.
Why?
Because the launch we've been waiting for will have arrived. And nothing's stopping we beauty junkies from getting our grabby little mitts on it.
When we first heard of the Urban Decay/Game of Thrones collab there was squealing. Lots of it. Crystal-shattering kind. An epic brand creating makeup for an epic television series? We knew it would be good, and we weren't disappointed... mostly.
The collection features an eyeshadow palette, two makeup brushes, Vice lipsticks, a lip and cheek stain, 24/7 glide-on eye pencils, and a highlight palette.
BR Nat - arguably the biggest GoT fan in the realm of Beauty Review - has her eye on the eyeshadow palette, big time. And who can blame her? With its pop-up Iron Throne packaging it's a must-have collectors item.
We could well be here for Jon Snow's Longclaw Brush or Arya Stark's Needle Brush. (Fingers crossed it's got a nice, heavy feeling rather than being light and plasticky.)
The Mother of Dragons Highlight Palette though? The consternation was real. As BR Kellie said - I don't understand it. Apart from the packaging and the dragon skin pattern it doesn't feel dragonny. That, and Daenerys never looks all that highlighted/contoured/bronzed. Sure, the colours are pretty and wearable for a range of skin tones, but... it's a bit of a meh for us.
Nitpicking aside - it's a collection we're excited for! At the very least we think a Vice lipstick purchase is in order so that when Game of Thrones is done and dusted and the world is ruled by the Army of the Dead - or Jon Snow and his Aunty's baby with Tyrion as its right-hand man (oh the theories that fly) - we can carry a little bit of our favourite show with us for years to come.
So will you be arming yourself, and your credit card, for release day? What catches your eye? Or is this one release you thing doesn't so much slay as need to go away? Get chatting!
I love GoT and that eyeshadow palette is drool-worthy!
