It only feels like it was yesterday that I was pouring over bridal magazines, surfing through countless websites, and buying celebrity gossip magazines, in the hopes of finding that one hair do that would transform me from a regular gal into a proper princess/glamorous goddess on my wedding day. Hair down, hair up, half-up half-down, straight, curly, wavy – all options were considered and many tossed quickly aside. I think it’s fair to say I found it harder to find a hairstyle I liked than I did to find a dress. In fact, it took me one shop and about eight dresses tried on before I found my frock, but hundreds of potential hairstyles were rejected before I found ‘the one’, which was then kicked to the curb ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING for another style. My poor hairstylist. Bless her, she took it in her stride and didn’t hate me at all – possibly because the new style was far simpler.
Of course times change and new trends and inspiration evolve. While there’ll always be room for a classic chignon the proliferation of hipster weddings has seen some gorgeous looks pop up, with casually dressed hair, flowers galore and interesting head pieces. It kind of makes me glad I don’t have to go through the whole wedding palaver again, because I’d never make my mind up!
In saying that, one still enjoys seeing beautiful bridal looks, and inspiration is easier to find than ever - and you don’t have to fork out a fortune of wedding mags either. Yep, you’ve gotta love the ‘Gram! Check out these looks that made the BR Crew say ‘I do!’
Long and flowing with a natural beachy wave and a gorgeous headpiece? Swoon!
Of course there’s always room for a beautiful braid, and this particular look feels all sorts of shades of ethereal goddess.
And this looser style braid with gypsophila weaved through and tendrils framing the face looks straight out of a romance novel. Also, how gorgeous is her hair colour?
Love a simpler style? This loose knot adorned with a floral sprig is truly gorgeous.
Or add in a little glamour into a similarly low-key look with a bejewelled piece.
If flowers are your jam, then this look may well rock your world. We love how it looks like and effortless mix of boho and Hollywood Glam
Of course in amongst all the loose waves, floral headpieces and casual up dos, there’s always room for some princess perfection. How gorgeous is this look from Chique Hair Face Body?
And this is polished perfection. Stunning curls cascading down, with one side swept up in a beautiful barrette.
So do tell – which bridal style is your favourite? What did you do with your ‘do’ on your wedding day? Are you in the middle of searching for your bridal hairstyle? What are you thinking of doing and why? Feel free to share your inspiration on the photo wall for other brides to be, because as we all know sharing is caring!
They are all lovely but of course are all for long hair - little harder if your hair is shorter (like mine), luckily I'm not getting married anytime soon HAHA, well maybe one day :)
