Have you Tried Lanolin in Skincare Before?

Have you heard that  shearers have soft hands?  I don't know much about sheep, but even I'd heard that; and it turns out the reason why is pretty simple - it's the lanolin from handling sheep during shearing!

Lanolin is basically wool wax - a sheep's natural oil.  It's an emollient, locking moisture into the skin (and forming a barrier to keep the sheep dry).  It's long been used as a treatment for eczema and dry skin.

We're putting Alpine Silk Nourishing Collagen Crème with Organic Lanolin to the test.

Enriched with New Zealand Certified Organic Lanolin, Collagen and Vitamin E, this cream helps boost skin softness and hydration.  It will firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, making it the perfect moisturiser if you're beginning to consider anti-ageing products.

The three ingredients make a powerhouse trio:

  • Lanolin is an emollient which locks moisture into the skin; as well as being extremely rejuvenating and healing,.  It allows the skin to moisturize itself from within.
  • Collagen maintain skin elasticity, volume, and moisture.  The form of marine collagen used by Alpine Silk is a hydrolysed (soluble) collagen which means it can penetrate the skin’s surface.
  • Vitamin E is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory; known to improve the appearance of skin.  Skin will look more full and more firm!

I’ve heard great things about lanolin hand cream so I’d imagine a face cream with collagen would be divine

Unfortunately aging has dried my skin out as the years go on so would be nice to have some elasticity and moisture back. When I think of lanolin, I think of lovely woolly lambs and sheep so it's got to be good!

I have tried a lanolin hand cream before and it was really creamy. It would be interesting to see how lanolin preforms in a face cream which includes vitamin and collagen.

I’ve heard great things about lanolin but haven’t tried it myself, would love to give it a go!

I hadn’t really thought to look into lanolin in face care products, it makes sense it would be wonderful though! I was given a tube of Dr. Lip Nipple Balm while I was breastfeeding which was absolute heaven on the poor girls and doubled as a lip balm

I have from time to time stopped using it more because my husband didn't like it so we changed

I’ve tried lanolin on my breastfeeding journey and it was my saving grace. I never thought to try it as a moisturiser. My skin is currently a sponge and I can’t get enough it’s just constantly dry, like pumice. I need my saving grace again. This sounds perfect with the collagen and vitamin E.

I remember my mum using a cream similar to this! I’d love to give it a go!

My skin is really dehydrated after winter, the Collagen and Vitamin E is just what I need. I’d love to try Lanolin cream.

Would love to trial this cream, find out what all the fuss about lanolin is! New Zealand brand too, fantastic!

Would love to try this lanolin cream on my very elderly forearms and hands to see whether it firms the skin there.. Skin thins a lot as we age and sometimes just minor knocks break it and bleed - And , of course, I'd try it on my face even though the wrinkles are no longer able to be described as Fine!!!

Yup, I have! My mum used to have a lanolin cream that she used as face cream that she loved. She also put it on my eczematous skin sometimes, and it really does work to moisturise and soften the rough, scaly patches that I have. Haven't used lanolin products for a few years now, but would be interested in trying it again.

I haven't tried lanolin before but I have heard about it. I would love to try this product, and I love that it is made in New Zealand too!
