Have you tried olive oil soap before?

When you think of soap you probably either think of a heavily scented round in a gift set from your nanna, or an obligatory bar on the side of the sink that never really gets used.

And when you think of using soap on your face or hair you probably shudder at the impending dryness to follow.

But as always, you can't tar all products with the same brush!  Our latest trial opportunity is Sabun Olive Oil Soap with Bay Laurel Oil.  Sabun is a natural soap with no added perfumes or artificial ingredients. This soap has been made in Syria for centuries and is still made to the same recipe which has been passed down through the generations.

Sabun is gentle on the skin and recommended for people with sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis.  It can even remove makeup!  But wait, there's more - you can even use Sabun on the hair!  It has proven to be excellent for people with dandruff. It has also been shown to be good to combat nits. The nits find it difficult to lay their eggs in the hair shaft due to the olive oil.

Sabun is different from other soaps as it doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients, harmful chemicals or perfumes.  Most commercial soaps are made from animal tallow or fats (sodium tallowate on the label) Animal fats are comedogenic and can block the skins pores.  Sabun is not made from any animal fats but just olive and laurel oils - it contains 80% olive oil which serves as a natural humectant for the skin.

We think this soap sounds amazing - but of course, we're not the ones who are going to be doing the testing - you are!

So if you'd like to trial this product, why not tell us what interests you the most about it.  Would you use it for your sensitive ezcema prone skin, or are you interested in what it can do with regards to dandruff?  Have you used an olive oil soap before or are your soap experiences limited to the regular bathroom bar?

This time of the year my eczema plays up, particularly on the elbows, hands and toes. It would be interesting to see what affect it may have on my skin. Using it for dandruff sounds interesting but i would worry my hair would be lank and greasy afterwards.

Everything about this product intrigues me! It sounds as though it would leave the skin feeling soft and amazing, but using it in ur hair.... I'd love to try this. I love the nit factor also. I have 2 young children and I try to use natural products on them most of the time but with school and kindy I am constantly on the look out for the horrors. Pick me I'm dying to find out what this soap is all about !

This looks so good! I am halfway through my first pregnancy at the moment so would love to trial any product that keeps my skin dry and not itchy!

I am currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment and I am on the lookout for a chemical and perfume free soap as the doctor has recommended I use this instead of shower gel and other soaps. My skin is becoming very dry including my scalp (I have no hair left) so I am needing something to combat this and to look after my fingertips which are flaking due to chemo and regular washing. I have occasionally soaked my fingertips in olive oil and find this helps to moisturise them so would be keen to try this product, it sounds perfect.

I have eczema, not a lot, but enough to be a pain when washing, so would live to try a soap hat might make this a more pleasant experience !

haven't tried this particular brand, but have tried an olive oil soap before. It was amazing, great smell and left my skin feeling fresh and moisturised. Would be interested to try on dandruff and on aggravated skin.

I would love to try this soap because it's all natural and sounds like it would be super moisturising.

Sounds delish! And sounds nice and natural and gentle for those in the household with sensitive skin. Very interested in what it can do for dandruff...partner has tried all sorts of chemical based shampoos and this could be his new best friend.
