When you read literally thousands of reviews a week, you pick up on products that every gal has at least tried.  You also read the term 'holy grail' a lot.

Nars Orgasm, Benefit They're Real Mascara, Urban Decay Naked, Estee Lauder Doublewear, e.l.f Studio Brow Kit.  Scroll through the reviews for these products and you'll find the term Holy Grail.   Now it's not hard to spot the odd one out in this line up of usual (and high end) suspects, which begs the question  - can a cheap product really hold its own against the big boys?

 Here's the official product blurb for the e.l.f Studio Brow Kit;

Create brows that are fuller, thicker, and more defined! The pigmented wax defines and shapes brows and the color complementing setting powder keeps them looking arched and perfected. The doubled sided taklon brush has one side to help arch your brows while the other side aids in filling them in. This duo provides lasting color definition for a naturally beautiful look.

According to our reviewers this brow kit is worth paying more than the $10 price tag it boasts - and how often can you honestly say that about a product?  Here's a list of just a few of it's virtues;

  • I have had mine for nearly 8 months now, and I am only coming to the end of it.
  • The angled little brush it comes with is amazing to use with the gel side, it is sturdy and amazing at creating nice crisp lines!
  • I love the formula of both the wax and the powder. They are both super duper pigmented.
  • For the price of this kit I was blown away.
  • The gel is perfect for filling in the gaps of sparse brows, or just touching up the little gaps in fuller brows
  • This is going to be your new best friend! I cannot live without this product. It is so easy to apply.
  • I now look back at my previous pictures on social media where I have used pencil to fill in my brows with horror. Never planning on living without this product again!!

And the list goes on!

Well we want to see what one trial team makes of it - is it really as good as they say?  Can cheap and cheerful really translate as 'holy grail'?

If you'd like to find out why not put your hand up below.  Maybe you're new to brow kits and don't know where to start? Or maybe you're currently using an unfriendy-to-your-pocket product and want to compare?  And if you've already used the e.l.f Studio Brow Kit why not tell us about your experience - is it your go-to brow product?  Did it rock your world and would you ever go back to more expensive brow kits?

I'd definitely be keen to try this. Although my brows aren't too unruly but they do lack colour!

I haven't tried this one but I have a similar (but more expensive) version from Benefit. It is great and creates a very natural look. I love strong brows!

I have totally never tried anything like this before.I pluck and that's about it but they are getting a bit sparse and this sounds like the bomb.I would love to give it ago. :)

I haven't tried this before, but I hear nothing but positive things about it! A few beauty gurus I follow on youtube use this and love it. I've only used powder before, would be interesting to see what the wax is like!

Ive used this and it's definitely worth the money. This was the first product whereI have heard of a eyebrow gel. I love how you can use either the brow gel, the powder or both. The powder is just a bit light for my eyebrows though

Will have to try this. My brows always need filling, they're so thin! I hate it

I brought my elf eyebrow kit off beauty joint it was about $10 going off memory , but sadly it was the wrong colour and they didn't have anything darker :( so sadly.. im still waiting for them to come out with something darker!! i want to love this like others do!!

Sounds amazing! Would love a chane to trial this as I currently use a pencil but am always open to new products.

Brows are the most important thing for me - although I have break outs, I'd choose to do my brows over concealer/foundation because my eyebrows are sparse and I feel that with filled in brows, I just look more awake, despite hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. I've always filled in my brows with pencil, but I'd definitely be into trying whether a brow kit that uses gel/powder would make it easier and look better. I've always wanted to pick up the elf brow kit from Kmart, but every time I go they're sold out! I'd love to try out this product!

So for the last 8yrs I have used an Elizabeth Arden eyebrow powder - this stuff is years old - I remember my mum using it when I was a kid!! BUT it has never done me wrong. I FINALLY decided to try something new and brought this kit of TradeMe. And in all honesty, I don't like it :( I find it is not long lasting, does not give me a sleek look that I am after and the brushes are horrible. HOWEVER I am still giving it a go as I'm sure eventually I'll learn to love it - plus I threw out the Elizabeth Arden product I was using :P

I used to use this product all the time when I first starting fillng in my brows. I only ever used the powder side because the wax side was too dark for my brows. I've since swapped to a different brand but I keep wanting to swap back to this to try the "Ash" colour since everyone always raves about it and after seeing shaanxo using it, it looks so fab on her! But everytime I go to purchase it, its always sold out! So still waiting to try it out properly, but I know once I try it I'll fall in love again!

16th August, 2014

This is something I have never thought about. I just pluck my eyebrows and don't think about them any more. Maybe our eyebrows are overlooked. Sounds like a good idea to finish off the whole eye look. Definitely worth a try.

I LOVE this product. It is amazing and I could not complete my makeup look without it!
