Depilatory creams are often seen as the more time consuming method of hair removal - and one of the messiest.  But sometimes you just have to put the time in to get a better result right?

Depilatory creams work by using a very alkaline substance to break down the hair follicle - it turns it in to a jelly texture that can easily be 'wiped' away. Because depilatory creams work below the surface of the skin, the effects actually last longer than shaving, leaving you smoother for longer.  They also result in fewer ingrown hairs as the creams also dissolve dead skin cells.  So for facial hair they're especially great - no five o clock shadows to worry about!

Depilatories are great for those that want a longer lasting result, but don't want to wax or epilate, especially as there's no pain involved!. A light tingling is normal while a depilatory works, but traditionally for those with sensitive skin they could be a little too harsh.  Until now that is!

We're putting Veet Hair Removal Cream for Sensitive Skin to the test.  This silky moisturising formula works in just 5 minutes.  You apply the cream to the area of hair growth and remove the cream (and hair) with the Perfect Touch spatula. The result will be silky smooth legs for up to twice as long as shaving.  After all, sensitive girls deserve that smooth, sexy, feeling too!

We're looking for 25 great reviewers with sensitive skin to put this to the test and report back - does this sound like something you'd like to try?

Have you used a depilatory cream before?  What were your experiences and is it your regular method of hair removal?  Or have you never tried it before?  Why not?

Ive used them quite a bit in the past but could never really get that smooth result like on the pack? Also my skin pretty sensitive so quite often would end up with a nasty rash. Dont know why I keep trying, lol. Hopeful I guess... :-)

Id love to trial it

I used a depilatory cream many years ago when they first started to become popular, and I never used it again! I really couldn't stand the chemically smell as it practically burnt the hair off, and it was far too harsh for my skin. It has been a really long time since then so I'd love to give it another go, with how fast the beauty industry advances I'm sure there would have been some major improvements on a product like this since then! I could definitely use the longer lasting results!

I am always pretty careful when I use my depilatory cream. I always make sure that I don't keep it on too long and I always buy a sensitive skin version if I can even if it takes longer or it's not as effective. It's my regular form of hair removal and I use it for my legs, I love how long the effects last..

Not sure about this type of hair removal.. Smells dire and have had a couple of bad exp trying it.. Think shaving safest? Esp for sensitive skin?

It has been so long since I have used a product like this I used it in my teens as I thought it would be easier and faster. It was so messy! and didn't really do as much as I would have liked. I can imagine this type of product has advanced over the years so would be really interested to try it out now

I tried one once and it was a pretty terrible experience.

The burning sensation started straight away and then I got left with a rash for more than a week! Of course it was an entirely counterproductive experience as the rash left me unable to use ANY hair removal methods for a week. I'm not sure whether I'd be brave enough to give it another go.

I once tried a depilatory cream on my facial hair which was running rampant due to steroid use. The smell of the product was positively revolting and a was forced to wash it off before time cause it was making me feel nauseus. It bought my sensitive skin out in a horrific rash and left me red and blotchy. It has made me wary of depilatory creams but I am always willing to try something new to erase the horrific experience of the past.

yes, I have tried a cream before. It is good for areas where I can't face the pain of waxing although the results are not as good, it still shows the hair coming through. I also find that I have to leave the cream on for much longer than suggested otherwise it doesn't work as well. I have sensitive skin though so perhaps the creams are not as strong and need longer to work? It is also a product for summer, I am not brave enough to put the cream on and wait when the weather is cold!

I've used depilatory creams before but I've found my skin is too sensitive for them, and they always leave red stingy marks. I'd love to try one specifically for sensitive skin - it sounds like it could be a solution for me!

gave me chemical burn all over my legs and was itchy for a week afterwards

I've never used a depilatory cream because I have sensitive skin and was afraid I would react to it or irritate my skin. I have always wanted to try these creams though as they look so easy to use (as I'm really lazy haha). I usually shave my legs, but would love the smoothness to last longer. This veet product sounds really good, and would be a perfect option for my sensitive skin. I've heard veet hair removal products are really good too.

I have used depilatory creams in the past and was never happy with the results or the damage to my skin... and don't start me on how much they smell :/
