Here we go again! The EE Cream!

Less than 5 months ago we wrote Do You Know Your BB From Your CC? - the ultimate guide to those 'alphabet creams' that are flooding the market.  Back then we were up to DDs and guess what?  Less than 6 months later, they've only gone and done it to us again.

Ladies, we give you - the EE Cream.

Prestige brand Estee Lauder released the EE Cream at the beginning of October.  Can you guess what it's full name is?  We bet you can't!  The Enlighten Even Effect Skintone Corrector SPF 30.  One thing's for sure, EE is definitely more catchy than EEESCSPF30.

Now before your consumer cynicism kicks in, this cream does seem to be different than any other on the market - tackling discolouration, hyper-pigmentation and dark spots by breaking the cycles that cause them. Did you know that everyday your skin is under attack from UV Rays and pollution?  And that while we constantly told to get our beauty sleep, hyper-pigmentation and discolouration are actually made worse overnight?

So what the clever sausages at Estee Lauder have done, is create a cream full of an ingredient called Baicalin that stops the irritation of the skin caused by pollution and the sun. If the skin doesn't react to the irritation of the nasties in the air then it won't change colour, darken or blemish. The cream also contains pigments and luminescent particles to help even the skin tone and add a youthful and healthy glow to the face.

We'd pretty much decided we were over the alphabet cream phase, but we're actually pretty curious about this one - how about you?  What are your thoughts on the continuation and evolution of BBs, CCs, DDs and now EEs? Are you excited with each new letter or is it time marketing execs find a new hook?

Ummm I like BB Creams and CC Creams, didn't think much of AA Creams, don't know what happened to DD Cream, was that letter of the alphabet missed out? And now EE Cream, I wouldn't completely write it off as I am yet to try it, first time for everything aye lol

did I miss DD?

It sounds really good but I think I'll wait until I read some reviews before I splurge. Haha. Especially because those are some pretty big claims that we've heard before from moisturisers, etc. If it does what it says though … Oh golly!

I think this could fall under a CC or DD cream with active ingredients. While I am curious to see if this works I don't think it needed to be called EE. It sounds like they're just trying to make the BB, CC and DD look outdated in hopes people rush to buy tiny tubes of their overpriced miracle cream.

What will be in the ZZ cream and what do they do when the alphabet is finished. Should have stopped at the BB.

It does sound like an amazing, miracle like product but I think it's time to stop with the letters and market something different. It's getting kind of old now. :/

It sounds like a cool product. Then there will be a FF cream and GG and so on lol when will they stop.

I think Ive too have had enough of the alphabet creams, my CC cream is great and I dont think I will go past that!

13th October, 2014

..AND it's Estee Lauder so it's gotta be good, right?

13th October, 2014

Wow - the cream sounds amazing! Dark spots and discolouration are a pain and ruin a lovely even complexion, so let's see if it works! Have to say I'm happier for products to have letters than numbers :)

13th October, 2014

Haha this is crazy, but I'd give it a try!

I think the alphabet naming is a bit gimmicky now but I adore Estée Lauder. So despite the rather silly name I will keep an eye out for reviews of this product, I do have some pesky hyper pigmentation spots that are resistant to treatment!

Not even a double E but the opportunity of a triple E they missed, lol. It does sound as though they know what they are doing though and I really look forward to reading the reviews on it. Please don't touch the F's!

Yes, the alphabet creams seem to be getting out of hand, but i think i would try this-it sounds great, estee lauder is awesome, and bb was such a holy grail i guess theyre still gonna suck me in :)

It makes me thinking the next generation cream would be "double F cream". Anyone has the same thought? :D
