We all have that friend who was blessed with naturally lush lashes. Whose eyes are framed in dark, thick goodness. We admire, we envy, we wonder... How can we achieve the same look if not thanks to the blessings of DNA, but by the wonders of technology and science and beauty chemistry? Thankfully, we less than lush lashed lovelies have options, like these...
Lash Serums
A good lash serum can make a world of difference by working to amplify lash growth while conditioning lashes so that they grow stronger and last longer through the growth cycle.
Not all lash serums are created equal, so if you're looking for a good lash serum, don't forget to read the reviews of Beauty Review members for tried, true and honest thoughts.
Alternatively, you can always take an oil, such as coconut or castor oil, and gently massage it around the lash line. While it's not as potent as a serum and isn't likely to lengthen your lahses, it can still help maintain your lashes by nourishing and strengthening.
Lash Extensions
I have a friend who swears lash extensions are an investment in herself, and I can see why. Whenever she has them applied or gets them filled she looks amazing. Her eyes pop - even without a scrap of makeup.
Lash extensions are ideal for those who have short or sparse lashes, or for those who want to look bright eyed and bushy tailed but don't have the time or inclination to pop on a bit of makeup every day.
Pricing starts from $60 and quickly climbs depending on the amount and quality of lash extensions you're wanting, but if you want longer lasting results, this is a great way to go!
The Lash Lift and Tint
If your lashes are already quite long and ample in number, but do need a hint of help, a lift and tint can be just the ticket. A lash lift create length, volume and curl. Lasting from four to six weeks, it's a quick and effective way to amp things up.
The Magic of Mascara
We'd be remiss not to mention mascara in an article about creating the illusion of lush lashes. It's the easiest and quickest way to add some va-va-voom to your eyes. There's a million and one mascaras out there, and I can tell you from experience that not all mascaras are created equal. Between the different wands and formulas, it can be hit and miss. Don't want to waste time and money finding the best? BR Amelia has put together a list of five of the BEST mascaras for voluminous lashes, and you can check it out here.
Do's and Do Not's
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, whether you go down the lift and tint route, the extension route, or the makeup route, do be gentle with your lash area. Don't scrub vigorously. Don't tug and pull at them. Keep your digits to yourself as much as possible. And, as much as we love a falsie for a quick fix, don't get addicted to them. Falsies are usually applied using glue, and removal of false lashes can see you lose a few of the real ones, so it's best to keep those for special occasions only.
And there you have it... long, lush, lovely lashes are just a serum, mascara, tint and lift or extension away!
So my lashed lovelies... Do you dream of lush lashes? Have you found a way to pump up the volume? Sharing is caring so chat below!
Does anyone know if fLash has changed it's recipe over the last couple of years? i used it with great success in the lead up to my wedding (nearly 2 years ago). And by great success I mean my very unobservant now husband noticed within a week of using it after giving me flack for spending 50 odd bucks on it at the pharmacy. But then I stopped using it for a while. I bought a new bottle earlier this year thinking I wanted to give my lashes some more oomph again, but I would wake up with puffy red eye lids and decided that was a bad sign and stopped using it. So sad :(
