How To Rock A Red Lippy Like The French!

If you've been hanging around Beauty Review long enough, you know we're obsessed with French-girl style. That effortless look that seems so thrown together yet is show-stopping. One particular look that French gals rock so readily is the red lip. It never looks over done, it never looks a hot mess, but it still looks like they've applied it without a mirror before sauntering out the door.

Turns out there's a trick to it. An actual method that means you can wear a red lippy without spending your whole day concerned that it's wonky or feathering, or giving you Joker vibes.

First things first, before you bravely pop on a bold lip you need to exfoliate your kissers in order to remove any dry patches and create a smooth surface. Next, throw on a balm and give it some time to sink in.

Red shade sorted? It's time for a little French lesson...

Take your red lipstick, and apply the colour to your lips straight from the bullet, and then press your lips together.

Next, gently swipe your pinkie finger around the edges of your lips to blur out the line.

And you're done.Ready to sashay out living your best red-lipped faux-French girl life.

If we could add a couple of extra tips...

Don't want to get your finger mucky and end up spreading red lippy all over the place? Blurring your lips with a makeup brush or cotton tip will do the trick, too!

Want to make your lippy last? Once you've done your initial layer of lippy, do one more to intensify the colour, then grab a tissue and press your lips into it.

To really seal the colour in, throw a dusting of transluscent powder on top.

And if you don't want to look like you've eaten a lipstick bullet for lunch, keep tooth transfer at bay by popping your index finger into your mouth, then close your lips around your finger, then pulling your finger out.

Easy! And the result? Très magnifique!
