We've seen some pretty eye-catching nail art trends in the last couple of years. Furry nails. Fidget spinners. Bubble nail. Pom-pom nails. But this latest trend? Well... it sure opened a few eyes at BRHQ. And of course, because sharing is caring, and what once seen can't be unseen, we had to share it with you.
Let's not beat about the bush... Here's the trend in all its glory...
Welcome to the world of Vulva Nails. Also known as Vagina Nails.
Fun fact #1 The vulva encompasses the outside areas of 'down there'. The vagina is the actual inner bit. If you want more details I would suggest you google 'what is your vulva'.
Fun fact #2 I've spent my whole life having those two areas swapped round the wrong way.
One has to appreciate the artistry that goes into creating a 3D vulva/vagina nail - especially when it so wonderfully captures one of the most precious parts of a woman. That which can receive pleasure, that which can give pleasure. That which has the ability to eject life. Oh, and that which contains the area that allows us to pee. And is there anything bettern than a good wee when you're bursting at the seams? I think not.
It's not a look that only the professionals can achieve either. A little polish, a steady hand, and a polish pen can see us create a 2D image at home, should we so desire.
Now, we freely admit, this is not a look that everyone would embrace. Heck, a good majority of the crew could only handle staring at these beauties for a minute or two. And Kellie and I were the only ones game up enough to write an article about it, and in the spirit of sisterhood decided to write it together. (For the record - she's the one who had her bits round the wrong way). But we can't help but think that in a world of man-splainers and man-spreading, of inequal pay and still-to-be-shattered glass ceilings, there's something wonderfully empowering about rocking your womanhood loud and proud, as I would 3D style. Or subtly and quietly, as Kellie is wanting to do, with a little gold vulva on her pinkie finger.
Interesting but not for me,will share this link with a friend of mine as she is always up with the latest trend when it comes to nail art.I like the sparkly purple look though :)
