Every year the Beauty Review crew is excited to see what Colour of the Year will be declared by Pantone, and to see how it will relate within the beauty sphere. Will it be wearable? Will it be terrible? Will it see us revamp our makeup look? Our fashion? Or will we do a good old Kiwi 'yeah nah' and carry on with our lives?
This year was no less exciting, with Pantone deeming 'Very Peri' as this year's colour must-have!
According to Pantone, Very Peri "displays a carefree confidence and a daring curiosity that animates our creative spirit. Inquisitive and intriguing, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri helps us to embrace this altered landscape of possibilities, opening us up to a new vision as we rewrite our lives. Rekindling gratitude for some of the qualities that blue represents complemented by a new perspective that resonates today, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri places the future ahead in a new light."
On first sighting we did wonder how we could work Very Peri into our beauty-full life, and for one bleak moment, as we gazed at the colour that could also simply be called 'blurple', we wondered if it was a beauty bust... But not so! Turns out Very Peri isn't very scary after all! In fact, we've found five ways to embrace it...
Is this not the lipstick case to end all lipstick cases? Bougie as, but also stylish! Best of all you can pop whatever removeable shade of Guerlain lipstick you like into it to suit your mood or the day's sartorial colour palette.
O.P.I 'Oh You Sing, Dance, Act, And Produce?'
Looking for a colour for your tips and toes that's a little left of centre but still wearable? This polish from O.P.I suits the Very Peri mood down to a tee.
Not only did the Dr LeWinn's Reversaderm system score a Beauty Review Top Rated badge with an overall rating of 4.8/5, it's beautiful packaging is perfectly matched for this year's Pantone colour. Not only will it look gorgeous on your shelves, it'll work wonders on your skin too.
