How easy is it to get stuck in a hair rut? To pop your hair in a ponytail and go about your day? To sit in the chair at the salon and say 'two inches off, please'? To colour your hair the same shade for the fiftieth time? The answer? Super easy.
How simple is it to get out of a hair rut? The answer is - super simple... with these easy ways to redo your 'do'!
Cut It Out
Have you been asking for the Farrah flicks or rocking the Rachel for far too long? Don't remember the last time your length crept up from below your shoulder blades? Asking your stylist to change things up is a simple way to refresh your look! Even if it's just a couple of extra inches off, adding some layers, or being bold and going for a whole new style, you'll feel like a new you!
Colour It In... or Out.
A fresh hair colour can make a world of difference... especially in the hands of a trained stylist who can work with your hair and skin tones to create something that enhances your overall look. Putting highlights in the same places for the last ten years? Why not ask for babylights or lowlights instead? Ombre hair your thing? Give balayage a go! If you're feeling really brave flip flop your hair colour from light to dark or dark to light (although be prepared for the maintenance and time that goes into the upkeep).
Set Your Style To Stun
When's the last time you broke away from the side part? Or walked around with your hair loose? Or curled it into beachy waves? A simple change of style can be stunning - without having to find the time/money to cut and/or colour your hair! Like a low bun? Try a high bun! Perky ponytail your thing? Give the low and sleek version a whirl! Swap your side part to the opposite side, or go for a middle/just-off-the-middle part. Haven't done plaits since you were in primary school? Release your inner child and bring them back!
With a simple snip, a dab of dye, or a new do, you can rock out the door looking (and maybe even feeling) like a whole new you!
My hair is super long, but is in desperate need of a trim, just to even it at the ends. My signature style is a bubble high ponytail, inspired by Princess Jasmine. It's quite simple to do, but I love how it highlights my hair length!
