Is your moisturiser too heavy for summer?

We've spoken quite a lot about changing your products to best compliment your skin and tend to it's needs as the seasons change.

Your moisturiser is no different.  In the Winter you're likely to need a more intense product and if you're suffering from dry flakes, you'll want a heavier moisturiser like a cream.  In the Summer you might find that your regular moisturiser is too heavy and leaves your face feeling greasy to touch.

So what's a girl to do?  Well we've spoken a lot about the ingredient of the year, the highly hydrating hyaluronic acid which works well in gel formulas.  Gel formulas are lighter than lotions, easily absorbed and don't leave a sticky or greasy film behind.

Or you could try adding a serum to your routine.  Serums penetrate deeper than lotions or creams and can deliver active ingredients where they're needed.

Well our latest trial product really does seem to be the best of both worlds!

We're putting Azurlis Hydrating Face & Neck Gel to the test.  With yeast extracted hyaluronic acid, as well as jojoba and flax seed oils, this is the ideal gel serum for thirsty skin. This is a gel serum that is firming and deeply moisturising.

This gel is a great alternative to a cream based moisturiser, but for super dry skin you can use it as a hydration booster before you use your regular day cream and lock in moisture. Organic licorice and edelweiss extracts add natural skin lightening properties to this product to help reduce dark spots and blemishes.

We're looking for one trial team to put this lucious gel to the test, so if it sounds like something you could benefit from why not tell us why below.  Does your moisturiser feel too heavy in the warmer weather and are you looking for an alternative?  Or maybe you're looking to add a hydration boost to your skin with a new serum?

Get chatting below, we might just send you one to trial!

I've always used cream moisturisers and my current one feels a bit thick and takes a while to try. I'd love to try a gel!

Intriguing - would love to give it a go.

All your posts about this gel moisturiser definitely intrigue me. I've realised that I've been using heavy lotions and creams that might actually be doing more harm than good to my dry skin! I'm 100% always on the lookout for something that ACTUALLY gives me skin the moisture that it needs. It's even the No. 1 thing on my Beauty Review Profile Blurb. Haha.

Ooh this sounds divine- a hydration boost for my skin for summer, without the heavy-weight feeling of regular moisturiser! This is such a great idea as I just wear the same moisturiser all year round. Would love to be in this trial team <3

I'm really struggling to find the perfect moisturiser, I've been trying a lot of different Korean ones at the moment, but I really want something to provide maximum moisture but that won't weigh me down or roll off (I have that with Olay products). My next one to try is going to be that Neutrogena Hydro Boost line, but I'd be interested to see the reviews on this one.

I find my nivea gets a bit heavy and greasy during hot months. This tends to leave my skin sweaty and suffocating. Would be interested to try something specifically formulated for summer wear!

I have never tried serums before but since recieving neutrogenas spf15 water gel it's been an amazing hydrating gel for my skin, it is much lighter than the normal moisturisers I have used in the past and it's also an amazing primer for my foundation :)

Thanks BR for a chance to be on this awesome trial. One of the few things I like about winter is the chance to use skincare that would otherwise be to heavy for summer or even autumn and spring. I find that I can't wear them any other time of year without having a greasy face. I also have some dark spots that I've been trying to get rid off and my face is going through a major breakout right now. My face is having those dry spots and then some oily places as well. So something that would deal with both would be fabulous.

Very keen to try. I personally haven't tried a gel and would love to give it a go on my sensitive skin. One thing I do with my current moisturizer is put a couple of drops if rosehip oil in it when I apply. It helps reduces redness and fades scarring. It also helps with wrinkles!! Make sure to use a cold pressed one as the ones that are extracted by hexane method can be really dangerous. I learnt the rosehip oil tip from a lady I worked with who was older and had amazing skin for her age. I'm keen to see how it mixes with a gel and how my foundation sits over the top :)

Recently changed my moisturiser but I already know its going to be too much for summer. I'm a water-dehydrated skin, and this can be hard to remedy. Gel bases are wonderful, and so is hyaluronic acid, so sounds like a great combo to trial. I would love to see how this works !

Hmmm. I've never really thought about changing my products with the seasons. I think I've always just rolled with what I have on hand. But I definitely like to wear less makeup over summer because I like a lighter feel. Maybe I should check out different summer moisturisers as well!! :)

That sounds really lovely. I have very dry skin all the time, from a combination of aging, menopause, and remnants of ill health. No gel/cream/lotion is too rich for my skin :)

I would love to compare this to all my cream moisturisers!

Yes I do find my usual moisturiser a bit heavy in the summer. I love gels, especially in sunblocks. They seem to glide on without the heavy rubbing in. I'd love to try this with the hyaluronic acid and serum all in one. Sounds fantastic!
