"Good things come in small packages" is a quote oft said by yours truly. As a person of shorter stature it's my retort when people joke about my height, or lack thereof. Another area where being small packs a mighty punch is the beauty arena, where little things can make a big difference! So what itty bitty beauty products aren't just good, but great?
Pimple Patches
Pimple patches changed my zit-ridden life. Those little stickers suck up all the gunk, stop me from getting fingery, while also helping them heal faster. I'm a convert. Are all pimple patches created equal? Heck no. I've spent a fair amount of money finding that out. My picks? The CosRx Acne Pimple Master Patch are my go-tos, and the Nexcare Acne Patches aren't too bad either.
Bobby Pins
Got a case of the fuzzies? Pin em back. Cute bun looking like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards? Pin your locks down. Want to do a cute half-up half-down hair do, but don't want to look like you've got a rats tail for a pony tail when you secure it with a hair tie? (Fine-haired folk will know what I mean). Pull your hair back and secure with bobby pins in a barette style. Trying to achieve that perfect eye wing? A bobby pin can help as a guide. Can't find anything to secure a bag of chips with and don't want them going stale? Bobby pin. Can't find a bookmark? You guessed it... bobby pin. The littlies truly do the heavy lifting.
Tweezers
Found a stray hair around your bikini line, but don't want to whip out the razor? Grit your teeth and tweeze it. Got an ingrown hair on your leg? Tweezers to the rescue! Brows looking a bit bushy, but you don't have time to book in for a wax or thread at your local beauty spot? A quick plucking can take them from tired to tidy in a minute.
Under Eye Patches
Skin Republic Collagen Hydrogel Under Eye Mask
Much like pimple patches, under eye patches are another item that have packed a big beauty punch in my life. Between the night sweats of perimenopause and just been a bad sleeper in general, under eye patches have become a must in my arsenal; making me look well-rested when I'm anything but. They plump, they brighten, they give the illusion of bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
False Eyelashes
Glam by Manicare Harper Lashes
I'm not a falsies wearer on the regular, but when I've an event to go to, you can be sure I'll be popping a pair on. They're the ultimate addition to a fancy frock and a pair of heels; adding a hint of allure to your eyes, while making them stand out beautifully.
Derma-planing Razors
Schick Hydro Silk Touch-Up Razors
I feared face shaving for a very long time. I was sure my hair would grow back thicker. That I'd have to shave regularly. That I'd be trapped in a never-ending shaving spiral. Eventually the peach fuzz of perimenopause saw me purchase a pack of derma-planing razors, and with a few swipes and a flurry of fuzz, I've never looked back. Smoother, softer-feeling skin for the win (and not a thicker hair in sight).
