We live in a world of mermaid and rainbow hair, of geode and bubble nails, of bodies that are canvasses for art. Basically if it can be embellished people are going for it and taking their beauty looks to a whole new level. The latest part of our body's to be getting the artistic treatment? Our lashes.
Sure, doing something a bit fancy with your lashes isn't anything new. There's coloured mascara, false lashes, coloured false lashes... but in all of my years of beauty loving I've never seen anything quite like the lash looks created by Miyuki of myk_eyelashes.
From flippy butterfly wings to delicate crystals that catch the light, to magestic bejewelled lash looks worthy of a fairy queen, her lash artistry knows no bounds.
Having not seen anything like this I delved deeper - well, I went and checked out Etsy - to see if anyone else was creating false lash looks beyond the usual types.
Moonshine Baby's false lashes ranged from fanciful to fantastic - and if I ever had a fancy dress party to go to the temptation to buy these A'Flutter peacock false lashes and wear them would be oh so real.
Eyelash Jewelry's range is delightfully whimsical, featuring everything from the above 'Candy Corn' lashes, through to Baby Zoo Animal's, Bumble Bee Garden, Cupcake lashes and more.
And wouldn't these butterfly lashes from SpotLightJewelry be absolutely perfect for a summer music festival? Simple, yet they pack a visual punch.
Whether it's your cup of tea or something you wouldn't bat and eyelid at, one things for sure, once seen these lash looks will not be easily forgotten.
So... what are your thoughts on emellishing one's lashes? Is it something you're already into? Something you'd love to do? Or are you happy for this trend to pass you by? Chat away....
I created something like this years ago it is on my facebook :)
