The Oscars Red Carpet was it's usual dazzlingly self, with some of the most talented and gorgeous starlets strutting their stuff in haute couture, bling and immaculate makeup.
The internet is awash with Oscars trends, from high collared gowns to statement necklaces. From centre parts to the colour blush making a comeback. Makeup wise, there wasn't one dominant trend, but an even split between two classics.
Yes it was the battle of the lips - statement vs naturals.

In the statement corner we have wine hues, just bitten berries and muted reds. In the natural corner we have barely-there pinks and perfect nudes. Whatever lip look these gorgeous ladies were rocking, they kept their eye makeup relatively simple - there were no heavy eye looks, more classic winged eyeliner a la Angelina or Margot or brown palettes were the flavour of the night. The gowns were the showstoppers - the makeup seemed to be the supporting act.
