Hello travel, my old friend. After what felt like a lifetime of being grounded, travel is back, with adventures to be embarked upon, reunions between loved ones in full swing, and relaxation to be revelled in. However, while we're out there living our best lives in whichever manner we choose to live them, it's important we keep up our skincare routine. Does this mean going full twelve-step while we're abroad? No way. Who has time for that? But it does mean keeping up with the basics. So whether you're exploring a new city, trekking through a mountainous region or sipping a fruity cocktail by the pool, we've got your skincare must-haves covered.
Plastic bottle travel set
100% the best thing I ever bought was the Manicare Travel Boarding Set. I decant my usual skincare products into these pretties to save on space, and - even better - they can be carried on board, which is perfect for when you don't need to check in a hefty suitcase.
Cleanser
This, along with moisturiser and sunscreen, is one of the top three must-dos while travelling. A good cleanser will remove grime, oil, makeup and/or sunscreen and help keep your skin in tiptop condition.
Face Spritz
Whether it's a quick, refreshing squirt while on the plane, after a day out in the sun or wind, or as part of your skincare routine, a hydrating mist is a refreshing hit of goodness that your skin will thank you for no matter where you are in the world!
Moisturiser
It goes without saying that if you're going to cleanse then a moisturiser will follow. As always, choose one that suits your skin type. Personally, I'm a fan of La Roche-Posay's Toleriane Sensitive Crème, as my skin can be finnicky in new climates, and this works no matter where I go.
Eye Cream
While some may say that an eye cream is a "nice to have" on holiday, for me it's as important as getting my daily water intake. Between being in a new place, eating all the food, indulging in an extra cocktail or two, my eyes need all the help they can get to keep me looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
Lip Balm
Whether skiing down slopes or sitting beachside, a lip balm will keep your kissers looking lush, hydrated and crack-free. Bonus points for one that contains SPF.
Sunscreen
It goes without saying that you ought to take a sunscreen with you on holiday - well, unless that holiday involves you sitting in the dark 24/7. The last thing you want to deal with when you're meant to be having the time of your life is the burn of your life!
Body Moisturiser
I confess, I'm not the best at remembering to moisturise my limbs on holiday, however there are days when I've come back from a day at the beach or an afternoon by the pool and I've felt as dry and crackly as an autumnal leaf, and my body moisturiser has helped bring me back to soft and supple life again. Take it as a "just in case".
As for exfoliants, serums, masks and the like? Have taken them. Never used them. Don't take them anymore. Save yourself the space for a good book, or a spot of extra shopping.

I like to have a small moisturiser and a toner especially if travelling by plane.
