Nail art. Remember when you felt daring choosing a bright colour? Or felt blinging with diamante accents? Or felt like a real wild one, sporting a contrasting feature nail? Well like most fashion statements, what was once 'crazy' becomes more mainstream, paving the way for even more adventurous designs.
And by adventurous, we mean, bloody bonkers! This type of nail art seems to fit in to two catergories:
For display purposes only - you couldn't even scratch your nose sporting these designs - like the headline shot for this article!
Weird but wearable - you could (mostly) function with these nails, but you'll clock up stares throughout the day.
And it's the weird but wearable designs we're becoming slightly obsessed with at BR HQ. From nails encrusted to the extreme with sparkly boulders, plastic characters and erm, birdcages; to nails with drawn on designs from pop culture to the outright creepy.
Here's a few of our favourites
Katy Perry - William, Kate and George Royal Nails |
KayleighOC - Edward Scissorhands Nail Art |
Superhybrid - The Little Mermaid Nails |
Robin Hobson - Hello Kitty Nails |
Sarah Hyland - Coachella Nails |
Janet Riffe - Fast Food Nail Art |
What do you think of out-there nail art? Should you? Could you? Would you? And if you do-do, what crazy designs have you rocked? Why not share your creations with us on Facebook , Twitter (@nzbeautyreview) or Instagram (@beautyreviewnz) - we'd love to see them!
Aw the little mermaid nails are so cute! They're almost wearable apart from the slightly inconvenient tail. I'd never have such extravagant nails, expecially the 3D ones since I play piano but I love to experiment with what I've got.
