If there’s one article title that’s sure to get certain members of the BR Crew going ‘ooooh, aaaaahhhh’ it’s an article that’s telling us what beauty products a member of the royal family loves. What can we say? We’re a tad obsessed. What’s good for royalty has got to be good for us, right? I mean they’re not just going to apply anything onto their faces. So we thought we’d delve into their beauty regimes and discover their secrets!
It’s widely said that Queen Elizabeth II will only wear Essie Ballet Slippers on her nails – and we can’t blame her. It’s a beautiful subtle shade. But the Queen’s not afraid to get a little more raucous with her lippy, sporting shades of red and pink, and apparently she’s particularly fond of Clarins lipsticks. We’ve seen pics of her applying her favourite lippies in public, but none that have revealed the shade… A national secret perhaps?
Nothing made us more excited than reading that the Duchess of Cambridge is fond of a Kiwi brand. Yes, apparently after receiving a bottle of Trilogy’s amazing Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, she became a fan. Surprised? Not us! It’s fabulous! As for her blushing cheeks and lined eyes? Well it’s said The Duchess is also a wearer of Bobbi Brown makeup.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex is one of those royals I’d make my best friend if I could. She looks relaxed, fun, and she’s stylish. Oh, and when a little girl asked her to reveal the contents of her royal handbag – she did! And out came Trish McEvoy Luxe Moisture Balm, which nourishes the lips while protecting them from the sun. So she’s sensible too. One does appreciate that trait in a human being.
How cool is it that a fellow Antipodean had a fairy tale happen? Nice work Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark! She met her prince at a pub and went on to have a happily ever after. So what keeps this elegant and beautiful woman looking so good? Apparently she’s fond of the Ole Henriksen’s range of skin care, with the Fresh Start eye crème often being singled out.
While a lot of the time we only hear about what royals love from ‘sources’, every now and then though we hear about their favourites from the royals themselves. Caroline, Princess of Hanover’s daughter Charlotte Casiraghi gave an interview with Vogue that revealed her love of Gucci products. To be fair she’d become the face of Gucci makeup, so she was hardly going to say another brand’s name in the interview, but still, we’re sure she wouldn’t say she loved a product she didn’t actually love. Who else is keen to try their mascara?
What we love perhaps the most is that so many of the products loved by women who can drip diamonds if they choose to, are easily accessible and affordable for the rest of us? So do tell? Are you a fan of some of the royal beauty picks? Which get your tick of approval? Chat away!
I have to admit I jump on the Duchess of Cambrigde bandwagon- often googling what she's wearing, what's she's holding, her hair brush (my kids are getting them for their birthdays!) and what ever else she gas and does!
