When a new product range from Neutrogena landed at BRHQ we knew we needed to put them to the test - and so we called upon our newly-caped trio of Superheroes to put the four new products to the test.
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Range was formulated with one fact about the skin in mind - our largest organ amazingly consists of up to 45% water. When skin is hydrated it looks smooth, plump and luminous, radiating a picture of visibly healthy skin. Dermatologist recommended skincare brand Neutrogena have created their most premium, luxuriously hydrating moisturising line yet to achieve a radiant and hydrated appearance. Formulated with highly purified Hyaluronic Acid, the new HydroBoost range utilises this efficacious hydrating ingredient which can absorb up to 1,000 times its weight in water.
There are four products to the range;
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with SPF 15
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Roll On
and our Superheroes used them all and reported back with their thoughts. Now being Superheroes you can expect incredible reviews - and so detailed were they that we've published each review separately, in full, as well as bringing you their overall thoughts in this article.
Superhero Lutece:
The packaging of these products is spot on, the blue glass packaging just screams " I will hydrate you" without saying a word.
The Water Gel (Day cream) comes in a heavy glass jar, the cream is thick and creamy, you only need a small amount to cover your face and neck. Your skin is instantly hydrated as soon you apply this to your skin, it gives your skin a natural and dewy finish. The Night Concentrate is thick and creamy with tiny blue beads inside. Waking up the next day your skin looks and feels plumper and luxuriously smooth, the results really amazed me on the first day of trialling this product.
The Water Gel SPF15 is a great and versatile product, I like to use this gel as a makeup base (primer) before applying my liquid or powder foundation, it gives a flawless foundation and a smoother application when I'm applying my makeup. The Eye Roll-On was the product I couldn't wait to try. After the first time using this I noticed a difference, my fine lines weren't as noticeable and the puffiness had decreased. I like to use this product before applying concealer under my eyes or eye makeup.
Trialling these products has been an eye opener for me, I always thought for quality you had to pay a high price but after using these it completely changed my mind. The packaging is beautiful, the formula of these products is fantastic, I am a new big fan of Neutrogena.

Superhero Plumpie:
After just over a week of using the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range I have definitely noticed that my skin has a softer, more velvety feel.
My under eye puffiness and fine lines appear reduced and my skin is definitely a lot dewier/balanced during the day but doesn’t seem to draw moisture from my foundation/BB cream as it usually would. I have to use a bit more powder during the day than I usually would as my skin is no longer as dry and seems to be more balanced.
I will continue to use the Water Gel, SPF Water Gel and the Eye Roll-On – I have discontinued using the Night Concentrate for now as it appears not to agree with my skin type. I will most definitely purchase the eye roller and the SPF water gel when I run out. I will reconsider purchasing the Water Gel once I have used up my jar but I am only using it as a booster/occasional treatment for now so it should last me a while longer. I do apply the Gel underneath some nights and I always apply the Eye Roller around the eye area first.

Superhero Chikoboo:
Water Gel: As I have really dry skin in areas I decided to pop it on as a substitute to a serum or oil that I usually apply before I put on my day or night cream. This was fine for the first few days but then my combination skin decided that it was far too much moisture for my skin and started to act out with excess oily areas along the T-Zone and a few pimple outbreaks, so I stopped using this as a serum/oil replacement and instead used it on odd days instead of the water gel with SPF15 added as it felt like it needed to be a day cream, which was better.
Night Concentrate: Without the application of oils and serums that I usually apply on a daily basis under my moisturisers day or night, I was thrilled to find that after just 2 nights I woke to find nice, soft and supple skin. Normally I only wear night cream 3-4 times a week as I find it to be too heavy for my dry/combination skin. I used this every night without fail for the first week for a fair review even though I know that this can be too much for my skin. On morning number 8 of reviewing it was too much I woke to a very oily T-Zone and pimples along the forehead and chin line. So I decided then and there to switch back to my every other night application and found that I got the oily areas under control and the pimples retreated. It left the dry patches around my cheeks for dead and they were un-noticeable after just 6 days.
Water Gel SPF: This has SPF added into it; therefore it must be the day cream. So this is how I have been using it and for the sake of the review I have not been using any other product for the duration of this trial, no oils or serum that I normally apply before I put on my day or night cream. I was actually very impressed with this gel and do believe that I might replace my current day cream with this as it has left my skin in such a glowing, hydrated state without any outbreaks and it has kept its hydration all day, as they actually claim without sending my oily T-Zone into overdrive....perfect!!!
Eye Roll On: I generally do suffer with puffy eyes but since I started using rosehip oil a few months ago this has all but cleared up, I also have been getting a few early nights so I didn’t have huge puffy, dark bags for this product to rid me of, I actually feel I did it injustice. I have noticed that where I normally get dry, flaky almost crusty looking (Mmmm sounds attractive right) patches around my fine lines, you know where them horrid crow’s feet are going to be, has been better with no flaky or crusty dry patches so I assume that it is this roll on that has helped keep this area hydrated.
