Tea Tree Oil has so many 'anti' properties you'd think it was bad, if it wasn't so darn good!  Here's just a few of the properties Tea Tree Oil has; it's anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-septic, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory.

Last month 30 Beauty Review members trialed Thursday Plantation 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil and as part of the trial we asked them to tell us all the uses they found for Australia's miracle oil.

So here's our top Tea Tree Life Hacks as recommended by our members!

Health.

  1. For cleaning wounds mix a couple of drops of tea tree oil with warm water, use cotton balls/pad and dab the area carefully.
  2. For getting rid of nits add a few drops to a couple of teaspoons of olive oil, apply to your hair and place a shower cap on and leave overnight, use nit comb next day.
  3. Put a few drops right into your shampoo bottle as a head lice deterrent and to get rid of dandruff.
  4. Add a few drops to a spray bottle of water and use on your kid's hair to repel the dreaded nits
  5. Use in your vapouriser (or crock pot!) in lieu of Vicks when you (or your children) have a chesty cough/congestion
  6. My midwife recommended tea tree oil when my little ones cord came off early and the tummy button wasn't looking that fab - dabbed some on twice a day and it came right
  7. Add a few drops of TTO and Eucalyptus in the bath or face steamer and breathe easy this winter!
  8. For eczema dab it on the affected area.
  9. Great on mozzie bites to stop itching -Dab on with a cotton ball.
  10. It's great for keeping mozzies away! Dab on your pulse points and enjoy not being bug food.
  11. Use it to treat athletes foot, or toenail fungi.
  12. TTO is awesome for cold sores, it gets rid of them so quick

Beauty.

  1. For getting rid of pimples, dab a bit on your blemish and leave overnight.
  2. Soak make up brushes in water/tea tree mix to kill off any badies!
  3. Dilute some with water and use as a face toner.
  4. Wipe over skin after waxing to calm the area and prevent red bumps.  (maybe dilute it for the lady area)
  5. Use an eye dropper and put a drop around each tail nail after a shower. It feels good on nails that are thickened.
  6. Use diluted and bathe piercings to ward of infection.
  7. Add a couple of drops into your foot cream to soothe tired itchy feet

Household.

  1. Add a few drops to the washing machine before doing a load of laundry - it will kill the nasties.  This is a great thing to use for cloth nappies!
  2. Add some drops in to your mop bucket when cleaning the floor for added anti-bacterial action and a lovely clean, fresh smell in the house.
  3. Add a few drops to freshen up nappy buckets and soaking laundry.
  4. Add a few drops to water in a spray bottle and use as a cleaner/deodoriser.
  5. Use it watered down for cleaning and freshening pet bedding.
  6. Place a few drops on to a tissue and hoover it up - you'll freshen your hoover and the air.

Tea tree oil is amazing. Really helped with my blemishes. That's my main use for it so far but keen to try out these other ideas.

I need to get a bottle of tea tree oil. I'm a bit concerned it might be too strong for my pimples but I'll have a go. I like the idea of add a bit to my foot cream and on my toenails to ward off infection my toenails do get a bit ingrown at times.

Me too. Almost everything I use is a natural product. With the exception of a few things I can't find a replacement for like anti-perspirant deoderant.
