The Beauty Bucket List – Destination Inspired Beauty

As much as we’d love to spend our days travelling, at times we have to accept the reality - we have jobs and families and study and life in general getting in the way. Of course, we can still dream – which is exactly what we did when Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba landed at BRHQ.

This stunning fragrance is inspired by the radiant Paraiba Tourmaline of Brazil. The bottle is reminiscent of the gemstone and the scent features passionflower, bigarade oranges, cocoa beans and vetiver, which represent the aromas of the Brazilian landscape, from the beaches and ocean through to the jungles. Oh to experience Brazil. To lie upon the beaches to trek through the Amazonian rainforest, to sip on their world famous coffee…

Apart from giving us a case of the envies that some lovely Beauty Review members will have the joy of owning this divine perfume, the arrival of Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba got us thinking… what other beauty products are there that inspire the desire to travel to exotic destinations?

To shop in Saks, to see the Statue of Liberty in all her glory, to stand in front of the Rockefeller Centre and have a Liz Lemon moment… New York, New York, you’re a heck of a town… While we can’t just pick up and take off, we can wear Essie’s Fifth Avenue and dream…

Speaking of dreaming, if images of the divine white sand beaches and crystal clear waters of French Polynesia haunt you, but time is short or funds are light, hold a flame to the wick of a Tahaa candle from Glasshouse Fragrances and let its aromas of vanilla, coconut and frankincense sweep you away on a tropical island breeze.

If cherry blossom is your thing, no doubt Japan would be on your bucket list. Oh to see the spectacular vision that is millions of blossoms blooming in Kakunodate, Ueno Park or Nara Park. An unforgettable sight to be sure. Until such a time that we can visit, we can add a little blossom to our lips in the form of Sakura Petal from the L’Oreal Colour Riche Moisture Matte range.

Which is the best reason to visit Switzerland? To hit the slopes? To take in the Montreux Jazz Festival? Or to sample the chocolate? Until we can find out for ourselves and make an informed decision the chocolate is winning hands down. And MAC’s Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow is like owning a little piece of chocolatey heaven. Albeit the diet kind because you can’t eat it.

So many beautiful places, so little time… until then we can but spritz a little Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba and dream of golden sand beaches and the scents and sound of the Amazonian rainforest…

So do tell, which exotic destinations do you dream of visiting? Do you have beauty products you wear that represent those dreams?  Chat away…

I really like the Carribean Islands. My aunty went there and said it was better than her trip to Hawaii. I never thought of getting beauty products that represents dreams. I will keep that in mind when going shopping now.

I would love to go to Fiji someday. I have Pure Fiji body oils and butters. I do often sniff Dove's Go Fresh shower gel which brings me back to a time when I was living overseas and really liked a certain guy and that was my favorite shower gel at the time. Reminds me of when I used to live there. I do want to go back and see him and his family and my friend there sometime in the next few years.
