Is there any greater complement to the luxuriousness of jewels than a beautiful perfume? It made sense that Bulgari chose to expand into fragrance, with the introduction of Eau Parfumeé au Thé Vert in 1992. Over the last three decades their collection has grown, each addition adding to Bulgari’s enduring values of refinement, magnificence and glamour.
Aqva Divina is the most recent release, and the first feminine fragrance under Bulgari’s Aqva collection. Inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, it is described as a ‘summer jewel’. Signed by Master-Perfumer Alberto Morillas, Aqva Divina offers a distinctive signature evoking the radiance and sensuality of a sophisticated summer eau de toilette.
With top notes of salty bergamot and fresh pink ginger, heart notes of elegant magnolia and solar quince, and a base of beeswax and sensuality of amber, Aqva Divina exudes an opulent Mediterranean character.
The bottle is beautiful, and the inspiration from the Mediterranean sea and Botticelli’s Venus can clearly be seen in the delicate curves and lines, so very reminiscent of a seashell and the pearl within.
As the weather cools down, as we add layers, warm up wheat-packs, and search for signs of spring, a spritz of Aqva Divina will warm the senses, reminding us of heat-filled days, balmy nights – and maybe even seaside encounters with bronzed Greek gods.

It has to be the bottle. When I read the ingredients I was slightly amazed as it sounded more like a food than a perfume but the Magnolia and Bergamot won me over. It would be an interesting perfume to try.
