Once a week a little box appears on my laptop screen telling me how much screentime I've been putting in on average per day. Reader, it's so embarassingly big I'm not going to mention it, but what I do know is that the beauty YouTube realm is where a lot of that time goes. And it's not just me who clocks up the hours watching beauty's best talk about tips and tricks, give opinions on products, while being entertaining by just being themselves, the Beauty Review Crew are every bit as obsessed as I am. Being a bunch of "sharing is caring" types, we feel it's our duty to spread that love. So who are our favourite beauty YouTubers? Who do you need to spend your time watching in the name of, er, beauty research...
We're kicking this off with an OG. Tati was the first beauty YouTuber I followed. Her soothing voice and makeup knowledge sucked me in from the start. Yes, she's had some ups and downs. Yes, she's been involved with some controversies along the way. No, we won't stop watching her. She's a Crew fave for sure.
Robert Welsh is a real life makeup artist who's goal on YouTube is to help us do our makeup better. His tutorials are easy to follow, his opinions aren't sugar-coated, and his talent is real.
He also has a brother who's another must-follow.
What James Welsh doesn't know about skincare isn't worth knowing. His obsession with skincare is as real as our obsession with him. Much like his brother, he's not one to suffer fools or foolish notions. Also, if you're on Twitter they're both worth a follow as their sibling back and forths are genuinely hilarious.
Lisa Eldridge we love you. We love your style. We love your talent. We love your voice. We love your rings. We love your cat. Never leave YouTube.
Michele Wang lives our dream makeup life. She reviews the bougiest of brands, and yet manages to stay relateable. We also adore that she's on the more mature side, because once you hit the 40+ mark it's hard to believe that every foundation looks fab when it's seen on a bright young thing with their collagen-rich skin.
Angelica Nyqvist is a Swedish YouTuber who is loud and proud about her love of "clown makeup". Her eye looks are colourific and she has next to no time for anything beige - unless it's going on her lips. Her makeup style is the opposite of what the Beauty Review Crew tend to wear, and yet we adore her. She's funny, quirky, super smart, genuinely talented and quite possibly one of the hardest working beauty YouTubers on the platform today.
Andreea Ali just makes makeup seem so accessible. Her looks aren't OTT. Her tutorials are simple and she gives excellent explanations of why she does what she does and what the benefits of her techniques are. And her accent is just so lovely to listen to. She's the perfect Sunday afternoon watch.
Last but never ever least, Wayne Goss. We've loved Wayne forever. He makes makeup oh so easy, giving us quick one and done tutorials, while showing us how to make the most of what we have, without ever making us feel like we need to achieve perfection. He is the true gentleman of beauty YouTube, and the love is real.
Clearly, if you've had a squizz at the vids, the Beauty Review Crew have a thing for the more softly spoken beauty YouTubers, rather that those who tend to be bold and brash or flamboyant and fabulous. But that's not to say we're not open to watching them. So, with that in mind...
Did your best beauty YouTuber make the list? We're always on the lookout for new beauty YouTubers to love on, so let us know your favourites below!
I have not seen all of these ladies ! I heard of Tati from other you tube videos and collaboration with make up revolution. Robert Welsh I came accross not long ago so watch him sometimes. Wayne Goss I found years ago. Angelica Nyqvist I don't think I have heard of her but there is a lady with thick accent I've watched a bit of I'm not sure it's her yet. Andreea Ali also haven't remembered that name but the face looks familiar. Michele Wang familiar name I don't think I've watched much of her if at all but there is other ladies that are younger than have similar face features I've watched I will check her out. Lisa Eldridge again familiar face but not name. Smitha Deepak I find has interesting make it easy to do stuff. I also like this red hair lady she does frugal Friday I can't remember her name now! I only watch sometimes though because my time is restricted.
